Exploring Felician University's Lodi Campus: A Hub of Learning and Community

Felician University, guided by the Felician Sisters, operates on two campuses, with the Lodi campus offering a unique collegiate experience. Situated on 27 acres along the Saddle River in suburban Bergen County, New Jersey, the Lodi campus provides a blend of academic rigor and community engagement, with convenient access to New York City.

Academic and Administrative Heart: Albin Obal Hall

Albin Obal Hall serves as the central hub of the Lodi campus. This three-story, multi-purpose building accommodates administrative and faculty offices, creating a space for collaboration and support. Science laboratories, art and music studios, lecture halls, and classrooms provide diverse learning environments. Student lounges and activity rooms offer spaces for relaxation and interaction. The building also houses essential resources such as the audio-visual center, computer centers, conference rooms, and the campus store.

Arts and Performance: John J. Breslin Performing Arts Center

Connected to Albin Obal Hall by an inviting foyer that functions as a gallery and meeting place, the John J. Breslin Performing Arts Center and the Goya Dining Hall form an integral part of the campus experience. The Auditorium, a modern theatrical facility with a seating capacity of 1,500, hosts a wide range of performances by international, national, and local artists. The Performing Arts Center also serves as a conference center, accommodating various University and community activities.

Modern Learning Environment: Kirby Hall

Kirby Hall, a five-story, 48,000 square foot structure completed in 1994, provides a modern learning environment. It houses academic classrooms, seminar rooms, laboratories, chemistry facilities, and faculty offices. The building's design promotes interaction between faculty and students through numerous lounges, small conference areas, and tutorial rooms.

Supporting Families: Childcare Center

Reflecting Felician University's commitment to supporting students and faculty, a center for childcare was dedicated in the fall of 1987.

A Hub for Knowledge: Felician University Library

The Felician University Library serves as a center for scholarship, study, and collaborative learning. It houses the print collections for each of the Schools: Arts & Science, Business and Information Sciences, Education, and Nursing and Health Sciences. The Audrey Toron Room contains a special curriculum collection of children's educational and literary materials. The library's three levels include a circulation service desk, reference service desk, information commons, reading room, book stacks, spaces for group and quiet study, and a computer laboratory.

Technological Resources: Computer Facilities

Felician University provides extensive computer facilities, including an academic and administrative network, five computerized labs (art, biology, writing, accounting/mathematics, and computer science), a computerized learning center, and two computer centers available for students. These facilities offer approximately 200 computers for student and faculty use.

Beyond Lodi: The Rutherford Campus

In addition to the Lodi campus, Felician University has a campus in Rutherford, New Jersey. The Felician University Rutherford Campus is set on 10.5 beautifully landscaped acres in the heart of the historic community of Rutherford, New Jersey. Only fifteen minutes from the Lodi Campus, the Rutherford complex contains student residences, classroom buildings, a student center, a gymnasium and a structure - originally known as Iviswold Castle - which is now home to a student lounge and café, campus chapel, and President’s office. The historic Castle at Felician University, unanimously approved for inclusion on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in 2004, opened in the spring of 2013 following a restoration project that took 14 years to complete. Students are housed in two residence halls: Milton Court and Elliott Terrace. Both buildings have housing organized around student suites containing semi-private baths. The Student Center contains the Falcon’s Nest, weight room, lounge and meeting spaces. The Joe and Joal Job Gymnasium (the JJJ Gym) building also contains the Campus Cafeteria on its lower level. Classes are offered in Martin Hall, Sammartino Hall, and Blessed Mary Angela Hall. The School of Education is located in Sammartino Hall.
