Meaningful, long-term relationships are essential to our work. We first meet alumni as students, proudly serving each new class of Hoos as they navigate their undergraduate experience. We then welcome our newest graduates into the ranks of the UVA alumni community, providing opportunities for career networking and moments of reconnection through Young Alumni Reunions. We provide ongoing opportunities for engagement and support in the years that follow through signature programs such as Reunions, Virginia Magazine, College Compass, and Alumni Interest Groups. Expanding Horizons: The Jefferson Trust

The public launch of Honor the Future coincided with the unveiling of the Rotunda Planetarium. Mr. Jefferson had dreamed of using the dome room ceiling as a planetarium, but it didn’t happen until 200 years later through a Jefferson Trust grant.

The Rotunda Planetarium was one of the over 250 grants totaling over $11 million that the Jefferson Trust made over the past ten years. These investments were fueled by the generous contributions of the organization’s donors and the commitment of its trustees who make grant decisions. These alumni, parents, and friends of the University have helped enhance UVA and enrich the student experience.
