Residential colleges (RCs) offer enriching experiences to undergraduate students of all classifications. Key Features of ACC Leases
- Individual Lease: An individual lease provides each resident with their own separate lease agreement and responsibility for his/her rental installments and applicable utility and parking charges.
- Recurring Payments: Save time in the future and never miss a rental installment by setting up recurring payments. Credit cards, debit cards and ACH payments are accepted online through the Resident Portal.
- Lease Term: The typical lease term is approximately 11.5 months of occupancy which coincides with the university's academic calendar. The lease agreement will reflect the total rent amount typically divided into 12 equal installments due August 1 - July 1.
- On-site Management and Maintenance: ACC communities are staffed 24/7 with an on-site professional staff.
- Insurance Requirement: The community requires all residents to obtain minimum coverage of $100,000 in Legal Liability to Landlord (LLL) insurance. Residents can purchase their own policy or have American Campus Communities place coverage for their unit under a LLL policy.
- Roommate Matching: You can search for and match with specific roommates in the RoomSync app. RoomSync-a roommate matching app-allows you to create a personal profile, search, filter, chat and match with other residents who will be living in the community.
Additional Information and Resources
Laundry Facilities
Laundry facilities are available to all residents. Washers and dryers in our residence halls and residential colleges are managed by Contractual Services Management. Campus Walk Apartments have individual washers and dryers in each unit. Residents of Northgate Apartments have access to the laundry facility in Residence Hall 1.
- One-time washer use: $1.75 (quarters or Ole Miss Express)
- One-time dryer use: $1.75 (quarters or Ole Miss Express)
Whenever doing the laundry in any of our facilities, remember that: Liquid, powder, or pod detergent can be used in washers. Three-in-one laundry sheets cannot be used. Problems with laundry, including refunds and service, should be reported by calling (662) 915-7445. After-hours problems with laundry equipment should be reported by calling (800) 927-9274.
Important Dates
- First-year housing applications are available beginning October 15.
- Roommate requests and confirmations are available within the application in December.
- Deadline to pay application fee to be given a room selection access time is April 10.
Contact Information
Incoming and current students alike will find the resources they need from the Department of Student Housing. Online forms include assignments request forms (request to vacate, room change request for current residents, room privatization request for current residents, student housing appeals, and cancellation) and the lockout service request form. Housing accommodation requests are handled by Student Disability Services on a first-come, first-served basis, and assignments are based on the available options at the time the accommodation is approved. Building and community types will remain unchanged unless they are no longer available. Please note, you MUST complete the housing application process, including room selection, with Student Housing at the same time you are completing the process to request housing accommodations through Student Disability Services.
