A Comprehensive Retail Destination
The University of Arizona Campus Store is a university-owned retail outlet that offers a wide range of merchandise, including apparel, accessories, and school supplies, catering to students, alumni, and the general public. In addition to clothing and educational materials, the Campus Store provides graduation regalia, technology products, and gifts for all occasions. With an array of brands and categories, it serves as a one-stop shop for those affiliated with the university and fans of the Arizona Wildcats. The flagship store is located just off the UA Mall, in the heart of the Student Union. This location offers the most diverse array of products - textbooks, technology, general books, clothing, school supplies, snacks, gifts, and more.
A Recent Transformation
The Campus Store, previously known as the UA Bookstore for over 20 years, underwent a significant renovation. The store reopened to the public on Monday, Aug. 19. The transformation aimed to enhance the store's appeal and better represent the university. According to Executive Director of University Campus Stores Peter Neff, the goal was to "really represent and scream 'university' without saying 'university' right when you walk in." The store now exhibits more dark blue walls spelling ‘hello’ in different languages, brighter lighting, open spaces with chairs to lounge on and expanded tech areas. Mannequins wearing the Campus Store’s Champion products appear in brand new displays. The store’s new contemporary design included new displays throughout the whole store.
Students have reacted positively to the changes. “They have been ecstatic beyond even our wildest dreams,” Neff said. “It feels more open, if that makes any sense,” Robinson said. “I love the new chairs too.
Celebrating Native American Culture
One of the most notable features of the renovated Campus Store is the wall near the checkout area displaying flags representing Arizona’s 22 tribal nations. Levi Esquerra. “I mean, when I see that, it is just like wow. Those are wow moments,” Esquerra said. The new checkout area includes an A-insignia and tribal flag wall, celebrating Native American culture in Arizona.

Supporting the University
The Campus Store operates as a self-funded entity, generating revenue through sales. “We are self funded, we take no money from the state. We are a state entity, but we are completely self funded by what we drive out of sales,” Neff said. This financial independence allows the store to contribute significantly to the university's financial well-being. “Last year, we gave almost $7 million back to the university. Completely self-financed, we give all profits back to the students, faculty, staff & campus community through financial support of clubs, campus recycling, ASUA student government, Tucson Festival of Books, scholarships and much more.
A Community Center
Beyond its retail functions, the Campus Store acts as a university owned and operated community center. We promote a sense of inclusion with an emphasis on academic excellence, mentoring the development of students’ practical skills related to their academic interests and experiences through employment, class project participation, academic internships and scholarships.
