Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES)

The Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES) is a prestigious scholarship program for non-EU/non-EEA students seeking to study in Ireland. This scholarship offers a unique opportunity to pursue education at UCD or other eligible Irish higher education institutions.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be non-EU/non-EEA citizens.
  • Applicants must hold an offer of admission to study at University College Dublin (UCD) or another eligible Irish institution. Applications without an offer of admission to a program will not be considered.
  • Applicants can apply for one GOI-IES scholarship per year.

Application Deadline: The application deadline for the GOI-IES 2025/26 is 5th March 2025 (TBC). The results of the GOI-IES scholarship competition are usually announced in June or July each year.

UCD Smurfit School MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship

The UCD Smurfit School MSc Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded to outstanding MSc candidates. This scholarship covers 25% to 50% of tuition fees.

UCD Global Scholarship

  • Applicants must have received an offer to study at University College Dublin International Study Centre.
  • Applicants must not be sponsored by an organisation, government or company.

Joint Scholarship: UCD and Dublin International Study Centre (ISC)

University College Dublin (UCD) and Dublin International Study Centre (ISC) offer joint scholarships of up to €23,000 to international students. The scholarship is available towards tuition at the International Study Centre, as well as for the chosen progression degree at UCD.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • All self-funded students are eligible for the joint scholarship, excluding those who are progressing to degrees in Biomedical Science, Health & Life Sciences, and Radiology. Sponsored students are not eligible for these scholarships.
  • Scholarships are valid for the 2025/26 academic year programmes at the International Study Centre. If students are offered with a scholarship for the International Study Centre programme, students need to confirm or conditionally confirm their place within two weeks.
  • Scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The maximum amount will not always be available, and students are not eligible for multiple scholarships.

Available Scholarships:

  • International Foundation Year at Dublin ISC: Up to €7,000
  • Undergraduate degree at UCD (3-year courses): €2,000 each academic year
  • Undergraduate degree at UCD (4-year courses): €4,000 each academic year

These scholarships are available for students studying an International Foundation Year at the International Study Centre and progressing to an undergraduate degree at UCD in the following fields:

  • Business, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities
  • Engineering and Sciences

Application Deadline:

  • First-year applications should be submitted by Dec. 1st to be eligible for all scholarships and programs.

Application Process:

  • Students can apply to up to 4 majors with the same applications, which will all be considered separately.
  • Applications must be made directly to specialized programs, like Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and the individualized "Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences".
  • After being admitted, transfer students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning, which allows them to have their college credits evaluated by the school.
