Are you a high school senior whose guardian or grandparent is a current or a former member of the American Postal Workers Union (APWU)? If so, you might want to consider applying for the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) Vocational Scholarship! Work & Learn Scholarships
Some employers have their own internal scholarship programs. This tiered scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $5,250, depending on an approved Work & Learn employer’s tuition assistance program. The $1,000 scholarship tier is available to students whose employer contributes $0 - $1,999 in tuition assistance. For employer contributions of $2,000 - $5,250, the scholarship will match the amount provided from the employer. This scholarship is distributed over the entire duration of the program and is contingent on certain requirements being met such as valid proof of qualified employment and an approved tuition funding plan completed with our Financial Aid team.
US Foods Scholars
US Foods Scholars awards financial support and professional development opportunities to students who plan to pursue an education in the culinary arts and enter the restaurant industry. We work with our partners, the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) and the American Culinary Federation (ACF), to identify deserving students who have demonstrated outstanding potential and achievement in the culinary arts, and require additional resources to take the next step on their culinary journey.

Federal Pell Grant
Filling out the FAFSA should also be one of the top priorities for college students in general. As the first step in the financial aid process, the federal government can provide financial aid to students showing financial need based on this form. The Pell Grant is one form of federal financial aid that is awarded to help with tuition and educational costs. Amounts vary based on factors like the school’s cost of attendance and the Student Aid Index.
Student Loans
Student loans can provide the up-front funding that students need to finance their education. The federal government is the largest provider of student loans. Students can work on securing student loans and scholarships at the same time.
Grants
Grants are need based aid that can come from Federal or State agencies. The Federal Pell Grant is the most well-known and widely-used grant program. Students apply for the Pell Grant by filling out the FAFSA.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Escoffier is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Scholarship is $5000 applied to tuition and fees throughout the length of the program. To receive benefits under the Yellow Ribbon program a student: Must be eligible for the maximum benefit rate under the Post-9/11 GI BillHave served an aggregate period of 36 months of active duty service after Sept. 10, 2001Have been honorably discharged from active duty due to a service-connected disability after serving at least 30 continuous days after Sept. 10, 2001This benefit can also be applied to dependents that are eligible for Transfer of Entitlement under the Post-9/11 GI Bill based on the service eligibility criteria listed above. Effective August 1, 2022, active duty service members, and their spouses using transferred entitlement, may participate in the Yellow Ribbon program.
Scholarships and Income
In general, scholarships are not counted as income. However, there are some specific requirements that a scholarship must meet for this to be the case. Students must complete the General Application located within the Culinary Arts/Baking & Pastry Scholarship page.
Overcoming Obstacles
Kevin Nurse graduated from ICE's Culinary Arts Program in 2008. Kevin triumphed over remarkable odds with his own health to graduate from ICE and become a chef. Shortly before enrolling at ICE, he underwent a lifesaving heart transplant and discovered that in an amazing coincidence his heart donor had also attended culinary school and worked as a chef. Kevin felt that he was meant to carry on the donor's legacy. Sadly, Kevin passed in July 2010. This scholarship program honors his memory and celebrates his life and passion for the culinary arts, helping further carry on his inspirational story. The scholarship is intended for a student who has overcome a medical hardship afflicting him or herself, or who has a family member with a medical hardship.
