Midwestern University: Opportunities for Alumni and Beyond
Midwestern University (MWU) is not just a place for education; it's a launchpad for careers and a supportive community for its alumni. Committed to the success of its graduates, MWU offers a range of resources and opportunities designed to help alumni thrive in their professional journeys. This article explores the various avenues available to MWU alumni, from career services and mentoring programs to financial guidance and networking opportunities.
Building Your Professional Network
A strong professional network is invaluable in today's competitive job market. MWU facilitates networking through its Alumni Directory, an online platform where alumni can reconnect with classmates and build connections within their fields. This directory allows alumni to search for and connect with individuals based on their program, graduation year, location, and other criteria, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. Log in to view Alumni Directory MWU Support Center for Account setup assistance or Lost password assistance, Illinois Campus: 630-515-7361, Arizona Campus: 623-572-3388.
Alumni Job Finder
MWU's Alumni Job Finder is a dedicated service that links alumni with potential employment opportunities at qualified healthcare organizations. This platform not only allows alumni to search for jobs but also enables them to post current openings within their own organizations, creating a valuable resource for both job seekers and employers within the MWU network. Alumni seeking employment opportunities are also advised to check with the College Dean's office, Program Director's office, or Office of the Dean of Students.
Mentoring Opportunities: The Apollo Program
For graduates of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM), the Apollo Mentoring Program offers a unique opportunity to give back to the institution and guide current medical students. Recognizing the time constraints faced by practicing physicians, the program provides a flexible way for alumni to share their experiences and insights with students outside of the traditional classroom setting.
The Apollo Mentoring Program connects students with alumni who have outstanding experiences and can facilitate learning in various areas. For instance, a student considering a particular medical specialty can connect with an alumnus working in that field to learn more about the realities of the profession. Similarly, students interested in practicing in a specific geographic area can connect with alumni who have experience in that region. Hosting a rotation site and precepting is a rewarding way to give back to your profession by mentoring future colleagues.

Access to Library Resources
MWU alumni retain access to the university's extensive library resources. All alumni are welcome to visit either library location indefinitely during regular library hours at both the Downers Grove, Illinois and Glendale, Arizona campuses. This access provides valuable support for alumni who are engaged in research, continuing education, or simply wish to stay current in their fields.
