The Role of a Data Science Intern
As a Data Science Intern, you'll be immersed in an environment that embraces rapid innovation, working to build the world's best transportation solutions. You’ll work in an environment where we embrace moving quickly to build the world’s best transportation. Data Scientists pursue a variety of problems ranging from understanding our passengers and drivers, to ensuring we have an efficient marketplace, to optimizing how we run our marketing and growth incentives. As a Data Science Intern on the Decisions: Product track, you will focus on Data Science for humans.
Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

Essential Requirements
To be eligible for the Data Science Internship at Lyft, candidates must meet the following criteria:

- Educational Background: Currently attending a university in Canada (required) AND graduating between December 2026 and Summer 2027 (required).
- Passion for Problem-Solving: A demonstrated passion for solving mathematical problems with data.
- Academic Level: Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program.
- Collaborative Spirit: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and collegial environment.
- Intellectual Curiosity: Excitement about working in a fast-paced and innovative setting.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is $42-46/hour CAD. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
