Automatic Consideration
Admitted students are automatically considered for a merit-based scholarship based on a full review of their comprehensive high school academic performance and completed Baylor application. Test scores will be taken into account for the scholarship review process for students applying for the upcoming academic year.
Application Deadline
Applicants who submit a complete admission file after February 1 are considered for merit-based scholarships based on available funding. It's crucial to apply early to maximize your chances of receiving a merit-based award.
Renewal Criteria
Renewal of merit-based scholarships is contingent upon maintaining a Baylor cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

- GPA Below 3.0: If your Baylor CGPA is below 3.0 at the end of the academic year, your merit-based scholarship will be discontinued.
- Probationary Period: If your Baylor CGPA is below 3.0 but at least 2.0 at the end of your first year at Baylor, your merit-based scholarship will continue on a probationary basis for the following year.
- Scholarship Discontinuation: If your Baylor CGPA is less than 3.0 after the probationary period, your scholarship will be discontinued.
- Reinstatement: When you attain a Baylor CGPA of at least 3.0, you may contact Baylor One Stop to request reinstatement of your scholarship. Reinstatement of Baylor merit-based scholarships is contingent on available funding. If you have not attained a Baylor CGPA of 3.0 and would like to request reinstatement of your scholarship, please submit a Loss of Aid Appeal.
Scholarship Programs for High-Achieving Students
Baylor offers a number of scholarship programs for high-achieving students. Candidates will be expected to have performed at a high-level both in and out of the classroom and exhibited the potential for leadership.
Application Process
Prospective scholarship candidates must first apply to Baylor by creating an Admission & Enrollment (A & E) Portal Account. Once the form is submitted, scholarship applicants will be prompted to complete a Baylor Scholarship Essay and request an additional recommendation on their Admission Checklist.

Maintaining Scholarship Eligibility

Scholarship Appeal for Graduating Seniors
Students who are in the graduating term of their senior year, but need less than 12 credit hours to graduate, can submit a Scholarship Appeal to have their merit scholarship applied to the term.
Special Considerations
Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA)
In the state of Tennessee, Baylor is required to submit information to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) for any student receiving tuition assistance. Please note: any financial award exceeding a family’s qualifying amount will render a student ineligible to compete in TSSAA Varsity athletic competitions. For a student to become eligible, the TSSAA states that families can only receive up to their qualifying amount determined by Clarity.
