DEWALT Trades Scholarship: Empowering the Next Generation of Skilled Workers
The DEWALT Trades Scholarship, established by Stanley Black & Decker, aims to support individuals pursuing trade degrees or certificates at two-year colleges or vocational-technical schools. It targets fields aligned with Stanley Black & Decker's Trade Goals, including construction, industrial, motor/power sector, mechanics, and technology. The DEWALT Trades Scholarship is part of the brand's larger Grow The Trades Initiative, a pledge to invest $60 million by 2030 in support of current and aspiring tradespeople. To date, DEWALT has awarded more than $20 million in scholarships, grants and tool donations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates, or current post-secondary undergraduate students. The scholarship is open to students enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year college or vocational-technical school. A minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent is required.
Target Fields of Study: The scholarship supports individuals pursuing a trade degree/certificate in industries such as construction, industrial, motor/power sector, mechanics, and technology. Qualifying fields include but are not limited to Automotive Technology, Aviation Technology, Carpentry, Construction, Diesel Technology, Electrical Technology, Fire Science, Heavy Equipment Operation, HVAC, Machinery, Manufacturing, Pipefitting, Plumbing, and Welding. Ineligible Fields: Individuals pursuing degrees or certificates in service industries such as culinary arts, cosmetology, or hospitality are ineligible.
Other Restrictions: Employees of and dependent children of Stanley Black & Decker employees and its affiliates are ineligible.

Financial Need: Restricted to those with financial need. United States citizens must submit a copy of the first two pages of their most recently filed IRS Form 1040 and Canadian citizens must submit a copy of their most recently filed Canadian Tax Document.
Application Limit: Only the first 1000 applications submitted will be considered for scholarship evaluation.
Preference: Provided there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to those that self-identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, Indigenous Peoples, First Nations, Inuit and Metis, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, and/or be an individual with a disability, and/or self-identify as LGBTQIA+.
Scholarship Details
The DEWALT Trades Scholarship provides financial assistance to those pursuing a trade degree or certificate at a two-year college or vocational-technical school.
Award Amount: The DEWALT Trades Scholarship is providing 40 awards of up to $5,000 each to students and makers pursuing full-time study at two-year colleges or vocational-technical schools.

One-Time Award: Awards are one-time only. The DEWALT Trades Scholarship is not renewable.
Payment Method: Scholarship awards are paid directly to the school. The SkillPointe Foundation processes scholarship payments on behalf of Stanley Black & Decker.

Applications are open to high school seniors, high school graduates or current college undergraduate students who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year college or vocational technical school for the upcoming academic year. Addressing the Skills Gap
The DEWALT Trades Scholarship Program celebrates its fifth year in helping to address the trade skills gap; to date, 80 students across 30 states and the District of Columbia have benefitted from the program.
