College Transcript. Although not required, it is strongly recommended that applicants submit official college transcripts reflecting college coursework taken while in high school (dual enrollment) along with the application. Students who are currently enrolled at another institution should request an official transcript to be sent with the coursework completed to date, followed by a final transcript to be sent upon completion of the current semester.
Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Scores. TSI approved test scores or proof of exemption for students who plan to enroll in college-level coursework.
Meningitis Vaccination. Medical records documenting Meningitis Vaccination within 5 years of the start of the application term or exemption will not be used for admission purposes but is a requirement for enrollment.
Final High School Transcript. Final high school transcript indicating graduation date, class rank and size (if applicable), GPA, and high school graduation plan (if applicable) is required to be on file before the start of the application term and is a supporting document for financial aid. All documents submitted become the property of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

The UTRGV Tuition Advantage grant is a program designed to cover tuition and mandatory fees by first utilizing federal and state aid, like Federal Pell and Texas Grant, scholarships and other gift aid. Any remaining tuition and mandatory fees not covered by these programs will be covered by the Tuition Advantage.

Eligibility for Tuition Advantage

Yes, if you are a new freshman or transfer student, you must have submitted the appropriate ApplyTexas Application and been admitted to UTRGV by the April 1 deadline.
