Westford Academy Theater Arts (WATA) puts on four main stage and four black box productions each year. School Mascot

Between 1956 and 1958, Westford Academy's mascot was the Black Knights. The 1959 yearbook specifically stated that WA teams would no longer use the symbol after the 1958 season. The familiar Grey Ghost - and associated maroon and gray colors - were adopted and applied starting in 1959, related to new, differently colored uniforms.

Beginning in 2019, there has been controversy concerning the mascot. The original Grey Ghost was Colonel John Mosby, a Confederate officer who led a partisan cavalry unit known as Mosby's Rangers during the Civil War. Ambassador to Hong Kong in the Ulysses S. Grant administration. In 2020, a WA alumni started a Change.org petition to Replace the Grey Ghost mascot that received over 500 signatures. In September 2021, Superintendent Dr. Christopher Chew released a statement explaining, "While there may be a lack of clarity around the true origin of the mascot, there is no ambiguity that Westford Public Schools must be a welcoming place for all students and families…" The WA mascot is now officially 'The Ghost'.

Athletic Fee / High School: Students at Westford Academy will pay a fee of $325 per student for most sports with the exception of crew, swim and golf for fall which can incur further costs. These will be collected at the school at the beginning of the sports season.
Athletic Fee / Middle School: Students in grades 6-8 will pay a fee of $275 per student per sport. These will be collected at the school at the beginning of each sports season.
Student Activity Fee: High school and middle school students who want to participate in a co-curricular activity after school must pay an annual student activity fee. This activity fee will cover all activities. The fee is $80 for middle school and $100 for high school.
Parking Fee: Seniors (and juniors as space is available) at Westford Academy will pay $200 for a high school parking space. Parking passes will be available at the Academy during the first week of school. This will be collected at Westford Academy.
