Haas Hall Academy: A Tuition-Free Path to College
Haas Hall Academy stands out as a unique educational institution in Northwest Arkansas. With four campuses located in Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville, and a fifth campus in Fort Smith, it offers a tuition-free, college-preparatory education to students in grades 7-12. This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Haas Hall Academy, covering its admissions process, academic environment, and commitment to student success.
Admissions: A Lottery-Based System
Admission to Haas Hall Academy is based on an annual, random, and anonymous lottery. Any child entering grades 7-12 who has not been expelled from another school and resides in Arkansas is eligible to apply. For the 2023-2024 Admissions Lottery, applications were accepted online between September 1, 2022, and February 1, 2023. Paper applications are also available at each of the campuses. Families lacking internet access can visit any campus for assistance with the online application.
Each application receives a unique Lottery ID, ensuring anonymity during the selection process. During the lottery drawing, applications are assigned a random number, and the results are sorted in ascending order to determine admissions.
Re-Applying and Sibling Preference
Applicants who are not admitted must re-apply in subsequent admissions cycles. While anyone interested in attending Haas Hall Academy must submit an application, siblings of current scholars receive priority at the campus their sibling attends. Preference is also given to children of faculty members.
Campus Selection and Waiting Lists
If an applicant receives seat offers at multiple campuses, they may accept only one seat at one campus. Accepting a seat at one campus declines seat offers and potential seat offers at other campuses. After the Admissions Lottery drawing, Haas Hall Academy accepts applications for waiting list positions on a first-come, first-served basis. These applications are added to the bottom of the waiting list in the order they are received.

Campus Transfers
Campus-to-campus transfers are not permitted. If a scholar at one Haas Hall Academy campus wishes to attend another, they must apply during the Admissions Lottery for that campus. Current scholars receive no preference in the drawing, and seat offers are not guaranteed.
The Tuition-Free Advantage
Haas Hall Academy distinguishes itself by not charging tuition. This commitment to providing a tuition-free education makes it an attractive option for families seeking a high-quality, college-preparatory program. Private donations enable the academy to enrich its students’ lives beyond the classroom.
Academic Rigor and College Preparation
Haas Hall Academy is committed to preparing scholars for the academic challenges of college. With a 100% graduation rate and 100% college acceptance rate, the academy's accelerated curriculum educates, challenges, and inspires young people for their higher educational pursuits.
The academic rigor of each class at Haas Hall Academy gives students the ability to prioritize assignments and excel at the high level coursework which is standard at higher education institutions. The leeway and high expectations for students in such a small school enables them to make a name for themselves.
Campus Visits and Open Houses
Prospective students are encouraged to visit Haas Hall Academy before the Admissions Lottery. Appointments to shadow current scholars and attendance at open houses are highly recommended.
