General Self-Tape Audition Instructions

For many roles, Universal Studios utilizes self-tape auditions as an initial step. To ensure your self-tape stands out, it's essential to follow these guidelines:

Visuals: Use a well-lit space with a clean white background and wear solid colors that contrast with the background.
Camera: Set your camera to landscape orientation and use the front-facing camera (no selfies).
Submission: Do not combine video submissions. Film each role and skill separately, and upload all required tapes simultaneously within 7 days.

Versatility is Key

However, stick to the listed audition materials; videos of anything outside the specified requirements will not be reviewed.

Registration Process

To audition, you must register online:

Complete the registration form, providing your personal details, a current headshot, a full-length photo, and a resume.

You can only register once.
Ensure your headshot, full-length shot, and resume files are no larger than 2 MB each.

Age Requirement

It is a legal requirement that all performers must be at least 18 years of age by August 6th, 2025.

Audition Timeline and Communication

The panel will review your application and respond as soon as possible. Due to the high volume of submissions, it may take up to 21 days to receive a response.
Final casting decisions for both parks are usually finalized by December, and all final callback auditionees will be notified of the outcome.
Check your junk/clutter and spam folders for correspondence.
Universal Studios is unable to provide feedback on casting outcomes due to the enormous number of auditions.

The deadline for applications is July 11th, 2025, unless the submission capacity is reached sooner.

Dance Auditions

As part of the audition, you will be supplied a video tutorial of a dance combination. There are three levels of combinations of varying difficulties. Each combination is specific to the role for which a candidate is being considered and all combinations present a certain amount of challenge. Please take your time to learn the choreography - and stay safe!
