Tyrone Tracy Jr. (born November 23, 1999) is an American professional football running back currently playing for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). High School Career
Tracy attended Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he began to make a name for himself as a football player.
College Career
Iowa Hawkeyes (2018-2021)
Tracy initially committed to Iowa on April 29, 2017, making his first college appearance for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2018. He utilized a redshirt season after participating in only four games.
In 2018, he recorded one reception for 22 yards in a win over Northern Iowa. He also had one rushing attempt for -1 yard against Northwestern.
In 2019, Tracy saw action in all 13 games, starting in eight. He recorded 36 receptions for 589 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing six times for 39 yards and one touchdown. He had one reception for 22 yards against Miami, three receptions for 42 yards and one touchdown against Rutgers, and one reception for 15 yards at Iowa State. Tracy had a career-best 85 receiving yards against Middle Tennessee State on three receptions, and four receptions for 26 yards at Michigan. He recorded three receptions for 21 yards against Purdue, and two receptions for 88 yards at Northwestern, including a 50-yard touchdown. Tracy had five receptions for 130 yards at Wisconsin, including a 75-yard touchdown. He recorded six receptions for 77 yards against Minnesota, and six receptions for 56 yards against Illinois. Tracy had two receptions for 20 yards at Nebraska, and one rushing attempt for a 23-yard touchdown against USC in the Holiday Bowl.

In 2020, Tracy saw action in all eight games, starting in four. He recorded 14 receptions for 154 yards and one touchdown, with two rushing attempts for 22 yards. He had two receptions for 19 yards at Purdue, two receptions for 33 yards against Northwestern, and four receptions for 38 yards against Michigan State. Tracy recorded three receptions for 36 yards at Minnesota, and two receptions for 22 yards at Penn State, with one rushing attempt for one yard. He had one reception for six yards against Nebraska, resulting in a touchdown, and one rushing attempt for 21 yards at Illinois.
During his time at Iowa, Tracy was recognized as one of seven sophomores named to the 2020 Leadership Group. He earned the Next Man In Award on offense in 2019. However, on December 7, 2021, Tracy entered the transfer portal.
Purdue Boilermakers (2022-2023)
After entering the transfer portal, Tracy committed to Purdue University on December 15, 2021. At Purdue, he transitioned to running back. In March 2023, it was announced that Tracy would be moving to the running back position.
In September 2023, Tracy scored a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown.
NFL Career
Draft and Early Career
Tracy was drafted by the New York Giants in the 5th round (166th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.

In Week 5 of the 2024 season against the Seattle Seahawks, Tracy made his first start due to an injury to Devin Singletary. Giants' Head Coach Brian Daboll expressed that Tracy's performance was what they expected.
Performance and Recognition
By late October 2024, Tracy was being recognized as a rookie surprise, dominating as the lead back for the New York Giants.
In December 2024, Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy Jr. became the third rookie duo in NFL history to each record 1,000 yards from scrimmage.
In January 2025, Nabers and Tracy were named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.
Injury
In late December 2025, Tracy was carted off the field after a hit to the head, leading to concerns about his availability.
