The Pre-school kids are given the opportunity to develop deep understanding of life around them through real world experiences. They will begin to understand number correspondence, as well as letter-sound correspondences all while building close friendships. The Learning Loft has a very well-balanced day planned for Pre-Kindergartners. Music, dancing, painting, and playing are still a big part of their day, although there is also time designated for writing, math, science, phonics and much more. Fundations is one of the phonics programs that is used to help supplement letter and phonics introduction. Math terms like 5 and 10-frames are used so that they are exposed to the mathematical language they will hear in Kindergarten. Teachers work in small groups and provide the students the support they need within the subject areas with hands on STEAM experiments and lots opportunities to verbally express their predictions and conclusions are all a part of the learning experiences that will prepare children for Kindergarten success. Academic goals are important, students are allowed to develop at their own speed. They are never forced to do more than they are ready to do, encouraging them to do their best at whatever task that maybe.

School Age Program (Elementary School Years)

The Learning Lab: A Mobile Education Station

The Learning Loft plans to launch a mobile "education station" to carry the love of learning to the community. This traveling learning lab will bring science and fun directly to children, making education an adventure beyond the traditional classroom.

The Cooperative Preschool Program

The Loft Schoolâs cooperative preschool program offers parents and children the opportunity to be involved in education together. By becoming part of a cooperative school you are investing in your childâs first learning experience. Classroom participation is the main key area where Loft families experience education. By providing parents and families with the opportunity to interact directly with their childâs early education, the co-op experience encourages you to develop relationships with your childâs teachers as well as the other families in the school. The Loft curriculum exposes children to new ideas and concepts through thoughtful, structured, interactive play that places importance on the development of social and emotional skills and helping children navigate conflicts without losing their sense of self, and aims to prepare children for success when they reach Kindergarten.
