Founded on May 24, 1913, as a small agriculture school by Amelia and Elizabeth MacDonald, the State University of New York at Delhi (SUNY Delhi) has evolved into a comprehensive public college within the SUNY system. Initially known as the New York State Agricultural and Technical Institute at Delhi in 1941, and later as the New York Agricultural and Technical College at Delhi in the 1960s, the institution expanded its offerings beyond agriculture to include programs in business, refrigeration, construction, and veterinary technology.
