Honoring a Legacy:

This scholarship honors Hal's 29-year law enforcement career, which began in Sacramento, California, in 1955. He chose his career after serving honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Hal rose through the ranks swiftly to become one of the youngest Police Captains in Southern California. In 1970, Hal was selected as the Police Chief for the Town of Los Gatos, California, where he served the community faithfully until his retirement in 1983. After his retirement, Hal continued his career dedication as an educator in law enforcement at local colleges. Hal was a devoted member of the Los Gatos Lions Club for 27 years. He was a Past President, Life Member Award recipient, and his contributions to the club, the community, and law enforcement, spanned over 46 years.
