These scholarship search engines offer a wide variety of aid that are available for many different types of students. Please note that many of these scholarships will not fully cover the cost of your courses or programs; however, getting an early start on your scholarship applications can allow you to apply and possibly receive multiple scholarships.

UCLA Summer Programs and Scholarships

Summer Scholars Support

The Summer Scholars Support program is a needs- and merit-based scholarship fund designed for current 9th-11th grade California high school students. Awards for Young People

One-time award to recognize outstanding achievements of young people. Must be 18 or younger as of application deadline. Contest is open to students between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age. Scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as undergraduate and graduate students. Scholarship is open to high school juniors. Eligibility: Open to young leaders ages 14-18 who are bringing powerful vision and real change to their communities.

Stephen J. Brady Scholarship

Stephen J. Eligibility: Each year, From the Top chooses approximately 20 pre-collegiate musicians ages 8-18 to receive the Award.

The Coolidge Scholarship

UCLA Scholarship Application

The UCLA Scholarship Application provides access to a wide range of funding opportunities. These include, but are not limited to, scholarships, fellowships, stipends, grants, and prizes. Note: UCLA administers all Identity-Conscious Financial Aid in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations by using “Pool and Match” applications for unrestricted awards, identity conscious awards, and other restricted awards (major, need, community service, etc.). Identity conscious awards may include a preference for a student’s race, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation for purposes of this policy), color, ethnicity, or national origin. These pooled applications allow students to submit a single application to be considered for multiple scholarships, and are used in determining the source of a recipient’s aid, but not their eligibility, receipt, and amount of financial aid. In spring, most current award applications are for the upcoming summer or academic year, but you may also receive award offers for the current academic year (Commencement awards, etc.). Your Bruin Financial Aid Letter (BFAL) will identify when the award will be applied to your BruinBill as well as any award adjustments made to older awards “locked” in this portal.

Is Applying for Scholarships Worth It?

In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY! While the process can be a long one, it can certainly pay off if you are able to earn a few thousand dollars (or even more!) in scholarships to help you pay for school. Think about how many hours of time you'd have to work at a part-time job to earn a few thousand dollars.
