Navigating the Saddleback College Transcript Request Process
Saddleback College provides a comprehensive system for students to request and manage their academic transcripts. Understanding the process and available resources is essential for current and former students. This article will guide you through the transcript request process, related forms, and important considerations.
Requesting Transcripts from Saddleback College
Saddleback College utilizes electronic forms (E-Forms) for submitting various requests, including transcript requests. This system allows students to securely complete and submit forms. An active Saddleback College (MySite) account is required to access and submit these forms.
Submitting New Forms:
- Click on the form link.
- Enter your Saddleback College username and password if prompted with the "SOCCCD Sign In" window.
- Press “Submit Form”.
The E-Forms system offers several benefits:
- Secure Submission: Ensures forms are submitted safely.
- Attachment Uploads: Allows students to upload necessary documents directly to the form. Use a free app such as Scannable (for iOS) or ClearScanner (for Android) to prepare attachments to any forms.
- Progress Updates: Depending on the form's configuration, students can receive updates on the form's progress, from submission to review to completion.
- Save Progress: If you cannot complete the form in one sitting, and the form has been enabled to save your progress, click the “Save Progress” button at the bottom of the page. You can return to it later.
Forms time-out after 45 minutes. To review forms you have submitted in the past, click on “Forms History.” Then click on the icon for PDF or for the HTML view.

- Generally, you would have to place an order for your transcripts through a service which Saddleback uses for official transcript requests.
- You will need your Saddleback College student ID number and the last four digits of your social security number (if on file with the college) to proceed.
- You will also need to specify where you would like the transcripts sent, i.e., the address of your intended transfer school.
- There could be a small fee for this service, depending on whether you want a regular or expedited delivery. After the order is placed, the service will process your request, which might take a few days. If needed, Expedited service can provide delivery in one business day.
After the order is placed, the service will process your request, which might take a few days. If needed, Expedited service can provide delivery in one business day. Note that it's crucial to ensure all financial obligations to the college have been met. Any holds on your account could potentially delay or prevent the releasing of your transcripts. Remember to always check the specific transcript instructions at the school to which you are applying. They may have certain requirements that need to be followed for them to accept your transcripts.
Important Considerations
- Student ID Number: Ensure that you have applied to Saddleback College and have been issued a Student ID number. This Student ID number will be linked to your electronic student records (including transcripts from other institutions) at Saddleback College.
- Prerequisites: Prerequisites are not cleared automatically when transcripts are sent to Saddleback College. Please visit the Clearing Prerequisites webpage for procedures and requirements.
- FERPA Rights: It is very important to understand that when a minor (or adult) becomes a student at any college, all rights afforded to parent(s) under FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) transfer to the student. In essence, parents or guardians do not have the right to inspect a student’s records or gain access to information related to their attendance at Saddleback College. At Saddleback College, any student may access their college records on-line via Log in to MySite. In that way, students have the ability to share enrollment or grade information with their parents/guardians. It is our policy that all students act on their own behalf. Persons, other than the student, including parents and guardians, are not permitted to enroll, add/drop classes, request transcripts, submit forms or records on behalf of the student.
- College Environment: Minor students and their parents/guardians must understand that they are entering a college environment, which is designed with adults in mind. Therefore, the atmosphere of the campus in general, and of the classrooms in particular, will frequently reflect an adult population. Students should be aware that:
- Courses may have frank discussions about sensitive topics.
- Audio-visual presentations may be graphic in their content.
- Students may be exposed to vulgar language outside of the classroom.
- Instructors cannot sit with underage students while they wait for their ride.
This information serves only as a precaution to allow students and their parents/guardians to understand what a college setting is like so that they can have a safe, positive educational experience at Saddleback College. Students wishing to send their grades for Saddleback classes to the high school need to order an official transcript.
Other Important Forms Available
Saddleback College provides various E-Forms to address different student needs. Here's an overview of some key forms:
- AB 540 Affidavit: Non-immigrant students classified as non-residents who completed at least 3 years of education in California, and would like to request an exemption from non-resident fees, may use this form (must meet eligibility requirement).
- Academic Renewal: Students who show evidence of good academic progress after receiving substandard grades may request to have the previous grade values in up to 30 units of coursework removed from their GPA with this form (must meet minimum completed units and GPA requirements; approved courses and grades will remain on the transcript).
- Adult Education HSE Special Admission Dual Enrollment Form: Senate Bill 554 allows Saddleback College to authorize students who are pursuing a high school diploma or a high school equivalency certificate through the Saddleback College Adult Education Program to enroll as special part-time students at a community college. This opportunity enables adult education students to take advanced courses that may not be available in their current school or program. Students are required to submit a new form each semester they wish to enroll. Once approved, the form allows them to take courses at both Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College for that specific term.
- Class Repeat Annotation: Students who received a D, F or NP grade for a course, but repeated it at a later time at Saddleback College or another college, may request to have the previous grade value removed from their GPA with this form (course and grade will remain on the transcript).
- College of Record Change Request: This form is used for students to request a change of their college of record.
- Course Drop Request Due to Hold: This form is for students who are unable to drop a course themselves due to a registration hold on their record.
