At least a 4 or 5 on the Florida State Assessment for Reading in 7th grade, or for private school students 85th percentile or better in Language Arts on a nationally norm-referenced test from 7th grade.
At least a 4 or 5 on the Florida State Assessment for Math or the Algebra I EOC, or 85th percentile or better in Mathematics on a nationally norm-referenced test from 7th grade.
A 3.0 unweighted GPA in their core classes (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science) on their final 7th-grade report card.
Proof of residency in Duval County (no student can be accepted based on an anticipated move; students entering DCPS will have to provide a mortgage or lease agreement, driver's license, etc. as proof of Duval residence).

The Application Process for the IB Program

In early October, invitations to information sessions are sent out to qualified Duval County Public Schools (DCPS) students. If you were not at a DCPS school in 7th grade because you were at a private school or out of the city, you must deliver your qualifying information along with your address to the Office of School Choice to be invited to apply. Students are given hard copies of the application at the information sessions (typically in early November). Digital copies of the application are not available. The applications must be received by the Office of School Choice (not postmarked) by the prescribed deadline for the application year. Applications received after the posted deadline will be filed under "Late Applications" and may not be reviewed, based on program availability.
