The POET Never Satisfied Scholarship Program
The POET Never Satisfied Scholarship Program is designed to support students who embody POET's mission to create a brighter future and who are Never Satisfied with "good enough." The program awards up to $75,000 in total scholarships.
Scholarship Amounts
Recipients attending a four-year university or college will receive a $5,000 scholarship. Those attending a technical college or a two-year accredited university will receive a $2,500 scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarships are open to high school seniors planning to attend college in the upcoming fall semester. Currently enrolled students in an accredited two- or four-year college are also eligible to apply, regardless of GPA. Eligible majors and minors include:

International students are eligible to apply if they meet the criteria required of all interns or applicants, including being legally entitled to work in the United States. It is the student's responsibility to obtain the appropriate visa, if applicable.

How to Apply
Interested applicants are expected to carefully read the Terms and Conditions before applying for the Never Satisfied Scholarship. Submission of the application signifies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Application Process
The application consists of three essay-formatted questions and an optional project submission. Applicants will go through several rounds of an internal review process with one final round of Zoom interviews with the top 20 finalists.

Scholarship Usage and Renewal
Scholarship funds must be applied to tuition costs, room and board, or as otherwise disbursed by the university’s financial aid office. Scholarships will be paid to the successful applicant and/or his or her university, college, or other academic institution, as determined by POET. Never Satisfied Scholarship recipients must re-apply in the spring of their academic year if they wish to continue their scholarship for the following academic year.

Internship Compensation and Benefits
POET pays interns a competitive wage, based on discipline, completed years of education, and previous experience. Note that POET interns are not eligible for our traditional benefit package.
The Internship Experience
POET interns are invited to learn as much as they can about POET's values, bioproducts, organizational structure, and business drivers.

Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by POET recruiters and hiring managers in the fall. Selected candidates are then interviewed by phone. If selected, candidates will receive a welcome packet and offer letter from POET. This information will confirm the student's start date and details on what to expect on the first day.
Important Considerations
POET shall not be responsible, and specifically disclaims any responsibility, for the consequences of any modification or cancelation. In the case of conflict among the policies or statements in this document, the most stringent policy shall apply. Successful applicants for the Never Satisfied Scholarship will receive an offer letter. The offer letter will outline how to accept, reject or, at the discretion of POET, defer the scholarship. If a successful applicant does not respond to the scholarship offer by the date outlined in the offer letter, his/her scholarship will be rescinded. At least one (1) scholarship will be reserved for internal use.

Recipients of POET Never Satisfied Scholarships may be invited to a virtual visit with POET team members. This visit is optional and will take place during the summer.
