Northland Community & Technical College: An Overview

Northland Community & Technical College (Northland) is a public community college with campuses in Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks, Minnesota. It also has an aerospace site in Thief River Falls and a satellite site in Roseau, Minnesota. Northland offers certificates, diplomas, transfer courses, two-year degrees (A.A.S., A.S., A.A.) in more than 80 areas of study, workforce training and education programs. The two campuses serve over 4,000 full and part-time students.

Campus Life and Athletics

Northland offers a vibrant campus life with opportunities for both academic and athletic involvement. The college's NJCAA athletics program, known as the Pioneers, is a member of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC). Providing a winning tradition in the classroom and on the field, the Northland Pioneers are recognized as one of the top athletic programs in the MCAC. Financial Assistance

The following information should help you understand the cost of attending college. Keep in mind that most students receive a financial aid package (grants and scholarships) which lowers their out-of-pocket cost. Students can start to submit FAFSA applications on October 1 for the following academic year (e.g., For academic year 2023-24, FAFSA can be submitted as early as October 1, 2022). Work Study and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) awards are based on early application and eligibility requirements. For MN State Grants, the Federal processor must receive FAFSA applications no later than 30 days after the start of the semester. At Northland Community and Technical College, 60 percent of undergraduates receive grant or scholarship aid and the average scholarship or grant award is $3,172.
