Create a MyPortal Account: You may create your MyPortal account anytime. MyPortal is the platform families use to apply for the Opportunity Scholarship.
Complete the Application: An application must be completed with the NCSEAA.
Submit Your Application: Submitting your application during the priority application window increases your ability to receive the full scholarship allotment. The application opens February 2 and closes on March 2.
Additional Tasks: You may be required to complete additional tasks. Scholarship awards are subject to cancellation if tasks are not completed. We will add a task to your record.
Income Verification: You will be notified if you need to complete income verification. Complete the Income Verification Worksheet for any one student in your household who was awarded the scholarship. Scholarship Award Details

The same process applies for the spring semester. After you have signed off on the award, it will be distributed directly to the school.
