The Online Instruction Center provides a convenient and flexible way to learn from the comfort of your own home. These highly interactive courses are led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known authors. The online courses are affordable, fun, fast, and convenient, catering to individual learning styles.

Milford Adult Education offers a variety of hands-on workshops for those looking to explore their creative side. These classes provide a supportive environment for beginners and experienced artists alike.
- Drawing:
- Drawing for Beginners: This class is for those with little or no drawing experience and focuses on understanding and building fundamental drawing skills. Individual attention and critiquing are provided to each student. Students must bring a sketch pad and pencil to class.
- Drawing Workshop: An extension of the beginners drawing class with an emphasis on individual growth and style. Anyone who has basic drawing experience and would like to improve their skills is welcome. You will learn basic technical application in rendering, drawing methods, design, and composition and the use of drawing reference as well as overcoming any drawing problems. All media accepted, but work is done mostly in black and white.
- Glassblowing:
- Intro to Glassblowing Session 1 & 2: These classes focus on the fundamentals of glass blowing. The class will start with familiarizing each student with hot shop safety and a work space environment. Course content includes basic techniques, shapes, and skill-building. Class registration cost includes use of all hand tools, blow pipes, clear glass and color.
- Glassblowing I (session 1 & 2): Build on the skills you've learned in the Intro to Glassblowing. This will focus on refining your technique, this class will dive deeper into fundamental glassblowing methods, helping you enhance your control and creativity. Students will begin with a review of hot shop safety and workspace procedures, then move on to skill-building exercises that explore basic shapes and advanced techniques. The course includes all necessary tools, blow pipes, clear glass, and color to help you continue your glassblowing journey. Prerequisite: Completion of Intro to Glassblowing is required for registration.
- Stained Glass:
- Stained Glass Session 1 & 2: Beginners will learn the basics of creating a suncatcher to learn the fundamentals and then go to create a beautiful panel of their own choice. Intermediate students will challenge themselves with more complex patterns and improve their techniques. We will cover types of glass pattern making, cutting techniques, soldering, and framing. Students will be required to purchase their own supplies for this course; supplies are an additional cost and not included in the fee.
- Knitting: This class is suitable for all skill levels. Beginners will receive help selecting their first project and guidance through every step to completion.
- Clay:
- Come Out & Clay Session 1 & 2 (New Students): This class is designed for those who have an interest in creating functional and non-functional wares from earthenware clay! This course will give you experiences with various techniques such as handbuilding, (coil, pinch and slab) and throwing on the potter’s wheel. Students will learn how to glaze and fire their work, too. It’s time to put the fun back in functional art. *Five spots are available for students who have previously taken this class and will have potter’s wheel priority during the session. A $72 materials fee must be paid to the instructor at the first class.

- Woodworking:
- Woodworking - Beginners: In this class, students will plan and work on their own woodworking projects while learning the fundamental skills of the craft. You'll also receive instruction on the proper use of various large power tools. No prior experience is required-just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
- Woodworking - Advanced: This class is for those who have already taken woodworking class before or have some skill already. Students will plan and complete a project. Prerequisite: student must have completed woodworking beginners or get instructor permission in order to enroll in this course.
- Handcrafted Knives: Learn the craft of making a handmade knife in this comprehensive class, covering all aspects of design, heat treating, and finishing. You will also learn how to create a wet-formed leather sheath. Some handwork and polishing will need to completed at home between classes. Students should be able to follow complex instructions and work independently. A $55 materials fee is due to the instructor on the first day of class.
- Sewing & Tailoring: Beginners Sewing & Tailoring Bring your sewing machine and owner's manual to class and learn the basics of machine operation, including how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, use different presser feet, and change a needle. You'll also work on simple projects, from pillows to pattern cutting, to practice your new skills.
- Candle Making: Soy Candle Making Workshop 101 Learn how to make clean burning soy candles in this informative yet very rewarding class. Choose from over 150 different scent options. Leave with two glass jar candles which burn over 25 hours each. Decorative supplies, labels, color options and bags provided as well.
- Wire Wrapping:
- Wire Wrap Sea Glass Workshop 101 & Session 2: In this great for beginners workshop you will be able to wire wrap anything found on a beach this year! A colorful selection of allergen-free wires will be used along with a huge selection of sea glass, use of all tools, necklace cords, take home sachet bag and instruction sheet. $20 supply fee to instructor night of class. Leave with two completed pendant necklaces!

- Retirement Planning Today Session 1 - ONLINE ONLY & Session 2 - IN PERSON: In this course, you’ll learn to manage investment risks, use tax laws to your advantage, optimize your retirement plan, and adjust estate planning for new laws. It combines financial education with life planning to help you build wealth and achieve your retirement goals. The course includes a 224-page E-book.
