Little Caesars Scholarship Program Requirements
Mountwest Foundation, with the support of generous private donors, offers a diverse array of student scholarships. These scholarships are awarded based on criteria such as academic achievement, community involvement, leadership skills, area of study, and financial need. The deadline to apply for Spring 2026 scholarships is October 31, 2025.
General Application Guidelines
All applications must be submitted online unless otherwise noted. Students are permitted to apply for more than one scholarship, increasing their chances of receiving financial aid.
Specific Scholarship Requirements and Details
Several scholarships are available with specific requirements and criteria. Here's a breakdown of some of them:
Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI) Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2013 by a retired employee in honor of recent retirees from the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI), Dr. Robert B. Hayes and Mr. Everett Black. Hayes served as Marshall University President from 1974-1983 and interim president of then Marshall Community & Technical College. Black was the associate manager and machinist instructor for the Machinist Technology Program at RCBI.
Recipient Requirements:
- Must be a second-year student at the Marshall Advanced Manufacturing Center (MAMC - formerly RCBI) for the upcoming semester.
- Must be enrolled in the CNC/ Machinist Technology Program at Mountwest Community & Technical College.
- Recipient must be pursuing an industrial education degree.
- Preference will be given to children of coal miners.
Additional Information:
- This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
Cancer Survivor Scholarship
Requirements:
- Be a student who is a cancer survivor or currently undergoing treatment, with breast cancer patients having priority.
Additional Information:
- The scholarship program is designed to increase diversity in the maritime industry by providing financial assistance to a student in the Maritime program - Deckhand Course.
- The funds in this scholarship are designed to be distributed to the student to ensure a meaningful impact on his/her experience at MCTC.
- The level of funding is a one-time benefit of $750.00.
Deckhand Course Scholarship
This scholarship is specifically designed to support students in the Maritime program.

Requirements:
- Enrolled in and eligible to participate in the Deckhand Course provided through the Mountwest Maritime Academy.
- Filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Show demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
- Eligible to work full-time in the US, on an indefinite basis.
Additional Information:
- Students can apply by visiting the scholarship application portal.
- Students must meet all requirements to be eligible.
- Only 1 recipient will be selected to receive the scholarship.
Service and Leadership Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship recognizes students for outstanding service and leadership in their school or community and academic performance.
Requirements:
- The candidate must:
- Be an undergraduate full- or part-time student seeking a Vet Tech certificate at Mountwest Community & Technical College.
- Must be enrolled at Mountwest to receive the scholarship.
- Spend 20 hours per semester doing community service at the Cook School building/ Animal Shelter during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.
- The scholarship committee may consider financial need and other criteria as needed to determine the best recipient of the award.
- The expectation is the scholarship would not fund 100% of the tuition, books and fees of the program so the student would have some “skin in the game”. But the hope is that it would be a significant portion of the annual costs to allow more students in the program.
- The scholarship would be able to continue for that students entire program as long as they maintain a 2.5 grade point average and stay in the Vet Tech program.
- Scholarship awards will be for one academic semester.
Sue Kay Richardson Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2018 by the Mountwest Foundation Board of Director’s; Mountwest Institutional Board of Governors and by the family and friends of Susan (Sue) Kay Richardson. The scholarship was created in memory of Sue Richardson’s dedication and service as a past Board of Trustee member of Marshall University. Mountwest Community & Technical College Board of Governors and MCTC Foundation Board. This scholarship program provides opportunities for students to enroll and graduate from applied technology programs.
Recipient Requirements:
- Be enrolled as a full -time student of Mountwest Community & Technical College in a certificate, an associate degree (two-year), or dual-degree program.
Scholarship for Deaf Students
This scholarship aims to support students with hearing impairments in their academic pursuits.
Recipient Requirements:
- Be deaf.
Additional Information:
- The award will be given to a Deaf student who may be currently enrolled or newly admitted.
Metro Tuition Waivers
A limited number of metro tuition waivers are available to incoming freshmen from Gallia and Lawrence County high schools in Ohio.
MCWT Foundation Scholarship
Our scholarship program encourages talented female students (high school seniors and current college/university students) to continue their higher education and ultimately help Michigan become the No. Annual awards range from $2,000 to $5,000, with the possibility of renewal, and are given to high school seniors and undergraduate or graduate college students. While MCWT engagement is considered, it is not a requirement for scholarship decisions. Scholarship recipients are welcome to apply for renewal in subsequent years. In 2025, our MCWT scholar class included 43 recipients from 17 colleges and universities across the state.

Requirements:
- To qualify, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time associate, undergraduate or graduate degree program in Michigan.
- Each applicant must be enrolled during the grant period in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program in a major such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, and Data Science. This is not a complete list but rather serves to provide examples.
Scholarship Application Assistance
There will be three virtual Scholarship Application Drop-In Help Sessions for the 2025-26 school year application window. Each virtual session is meant to provide students with assistance in completing the application.
