Early Career at USC
Ford initially joined USC as a highly-regarded recruit. As a top 50 high-school recruit in the class of 2019, expectations were high for the young receiver. However, his early years with the Trojans were marked by setbacks, including an ACL injury in June 2020. Despite these challenges, Ford remained determined to contribute to the team.
In 2021, Ford was listed on the Week 1 depth chart, signaling his return from the ACL injury. Although he was still working to find a consistent role in the receiver rotation, his presence indicated his commitment to the team and his ongoing recovery.
2022 Season: A Glimpse of Potential
The 2022 season provided a glimpse of Ford's potential. Playing alongside Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams, Ford recorded career highs, logging 20 receptions for 365 yards and two touchdowns over 12 games. He averaged an impressive 18.3 yards per reception under first-year head coach Lincoln Riley. Despite this success, Ford still found himself in a crowded receiving corps, which ultimately led to his decision to explore other opportunities.
Transfer to UCLA
In January 2023, Ford entered the transfer portal and subsequently announced his decision to join crosstown rival UCLA. This move allowed him to stay in Southern California and seek a larger role in a new offensive scheme.

Ford himself discussed his decision to transfer to UCLA, highlighting his reasons for choosing the Bruins. The transfer also provided him with an opportunity to bond with the UCLA quarterbacks and integrate into the team's culture.
During his time at UCLA, Ford appeared in games, including the match-up against Arizona State. He played 21 snaps at receiver but did not record any statistics.
Return to USC
In a surprising turn of events, Ford returned to USC for the 2024 season. This move brought him back to the program where he began his college career, offering him a chance to contribute to the Trojans in his final year of eligibility.
Upon his return, Ford was listed as a co-starter for the season opener, indicating the coaching staff's confidence in his abilities. His experience and familiarity with the program were seen as valuable assets.
2024 Season: Contributions and a Storybook Ending
Throughout the 2024 season, Ford made notable contributions to the USC offense. He recorded a season-high four receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown in a win against Rutgers.

Ford's USC career culminated in a memorable performance at the Las Vegas Bowl. In what could be described as a "storybook ending," he totaled six catches for 59 yards and a touchdown in a victory against Texas A&M. This performance marked his best game of the season and provided a fitting conclusion to his college career.
For the 2024 campaign, Ford compiled 26 catches for 317 yards and three touchdowns on 31 targets.
