Connecting and Giving Back
The Kent State University Alumni Association actively works to engage and inspire alumni, friends, and partners to connect with and give back to the university. This collaborative spirit transforms the lives of students and creates a positive impact throughout our communities. From November 1 through Giving Tuesday (December), opportunities abound to contribute to Kent State's ongoing success.
Staying Informed and Involved
Staying connected is crucial for alumni who wish to remain a part of the Kent State family. The monthly e-newsletter is a valuable resource, providing information on university news and events, alumni profiles and successes, and stories about how giving through Kent State makes an impact on the entire university community and beyond. Alumni who are not receiving their e-Flash can update their information to ensure they stay in the loop.
The "Find a Flash" program offers a unique way to reconnect with former classmates, study partners, or Kent State friends. This initiative helps locate fellow alumni, making it easier to rekindle old friendships and professional relationships.

Transition to a Non-Dues Society: Flashes Forever Society
Kent State’s Alumni Association previously offered discounts exclusively for paid members, but beginning November, the association transitioned to a "non-dues society." Kent State is one of several Ohio universities that has made this change. Other schools include: the University of Akron, Bowling Green State University and Youngstown State University, which decided to make the transition to a “non-dues society” last summer.
Previously, member-only benefits included discounts on Kent State merchandise, sporting events, recreational memberships, home and auto insurance, car rentals and hotel rooms. New graduate members received full membership benefits for a full year for $25.
Life members who joined before July 1, 2018, have automatically been accepted to the new Flashes Forever Society. Annual and complimentary members are still able to enjoy their benefits for the remainder of their term.
