Health and Wellness Initiatives

Through a partnership with the Boca Raton Regional Hospital, scholars can receive their college physicals performed by a hospital physician, along with any needed vaccinations. Each scholar also receives a gift bag containing valuable school and dorm supplies for their first year of college.

ComPsych provides scholars and their family members with free access to a student assistance program, offering mental health counseling, legal and financial consultation, and work-life assistance services. Students and their family members receive five free sessions on a per person, per issue, per year basis.

Essential Resources and Support

Scholars can choose either a laptop computer or a cash college supply stipend in addition to their financial award.

The Emergency Fund provides a resource for current Snow Scholars to apply for financial assistance to manage unexpected hardships during their educational careers. Rolling applications are accepted throughout the year and reviewed by the Emergency Fund Review Committee.

Building a Supportive Community

Snow Family Master Classes help scholars stand out and feel more comfortable in their new surroundings. The Fund also offers CPR certification and self-defense classes at no cost.

Staff members maintain constant contact with students, providing ongoing support and resources throughout the year. They monitor students' progress and offer assistance to those who may be falling behind.

Addressing Unique Challenges

The First Year Transition Program educates scholars on the challenges and lifestyle changes they will experience in their first year of college. Each Monday morning, scholars receive motivational messages to set the tone for the week and provide encouragement.

The Scholar Closet offers free clothing, shoes, and accessories for scholars of all gender identities, relying on donations from community partners and individuals. The Scholar Closet addresses that issue. Snow Scholars of all gender identities can visit the closet year-round for FREE clothing, shoes, and accessories. We rely on donations from community partners and individuals to offer both casual and professional attire.

Professional Photography

Many of our Scholars cannot afford to have senior photos taken at their high school. Each year during the students' interviews, we create a studio in our office and take a professional photo of them.

High School Presentation Schedule

Each year, a representative from The George Snow Scholarship Fund visits eligible high schools to give informative presentations on the scholarships that are available. At the presentations, students are advised on how to best complete the application and questions relating to the application process are answered. We are currently scheduling our visits for our 2025-2026 applications. Keep checking back, if your school has not scheduled a visit.
