Specific Eligibility Criteria for Select Courses

For admission to Under Graduate courses (UG) a candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations of Tamil Nadu or an Examination (like the CBSE) recognised by the University of Madras as equivalent thereto.
B.A./B.B.A./B.Com.: Candidates who have passed +2 Board examinations- State Board / Central Board or Equivalent examination from all disciplines are eligible to apply.
B.Sc.: Candidates who have passed +2 examinations- State Board / Central Board or Equivalent examination with a subject combination of 1. Botany, Zoology and Chemistry (or) 2. Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Botany/Zoology are eligible to apply.
Students from Vocational stream is not eligible to apply.

Postgraduate Courses:

M.A. English: Candidates for admission to the first year of the Postgraduate Degree programme of English shall be required to have passed 1. B.A. Degree Examination of the Madras University with Branch XII- English as the main subject of study or 2. B.A. or B.Sc. Degree Examinations with part II English or 3. An examination of other Universities accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto shall be permitted to appear and qualify for M.A.
M.A. Economics/Business Economics: Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of M.A. Economics and M.A .Business Economics course shall be required to have passed B.A. Economics, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Statistics.
M.A. History: Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of M.A. History course shall be required to have passed the B. A.
M.A. Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology: Candidate for admission to the first year of the degree of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology courses should be required to have passed B.Sc.
M.A. Journalism and Communication: A Candidate for admission to M.A. Journalism and Communication should have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from University of Madras or some other University accepted by the syndicate as equivalent.
M.Com: A candidate who has passed the B.Com, B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), B.Com (Accounting and Finance), B.Com.( Marketing Management) , B.Com (Bank Management), B.Com (any specialization) B.B.A.,.B.A Business Economics orB.A.Economics, B.Sc. (Statistics.), B.Sc.(Maths), B.Sc.(Comp. Degree examination of this University or an examination of some other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto subject to such conditions as may be permitted to appear and qualify for M.Com.
M.Sc. Physics: Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of M.Sc. Physics course shall be required to have passed the B.Sc.
M.A. Corporate Secretaryship: Candidates for admission to the first year of Post Graduate program of Corporate Secretaryship program shall be required to have passed B.Com degree with any specialisation/ B.B.A.
For admission to the first year of the Degree of M.A. A. or B.Sc. Degree Examinations with part II Tamil orAn examination of other Universities accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto shall be permitted to appear and qualify for M.A.

Scanned image of photograph (with name mentioned) taken recently (file size 100 kb;jpg/gif format) with a dimension of 125 x 165 pixels (4.4 X 5.8 cm) must be uploaded.
