East Los Angeles College Basketball: A Legacy of Excellence
East Los Angeles College (ELAC) boasts a men's basketball program that has become a source of pride for the surrounding community and the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). Led by head coach John Mosley, ELAC Men’s Basketball is one of the premier programs in California Community College athletics. The program's dedication to developing student-athletes both on and off the court has garnered national recognition, further amplified by the Netflix documentary series Last Chance U: Basketball.
Recent Successes: 2025-26 Season Highlights
The East Los Angeles College men's basketball team has earned a share of the South Coast Conference (SCC) North Division championship alongside Mt. San Antonio College. The Huskies' success was recognized across the 2025-26 All-South Coast Conference North Division Team, with four players earning individual honors.
All-South Coast Conference Honors
The Huskies' stellar performance in the 2025-26 season was further validated by the recognition of several players on the All-South Coast Conference North Division Team.
Sophomore forward Terrence Hampton was named Co-Player of the Year - his second consecutive All-SCC First Team selection - averaging 14.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Hampton shared the top honor with Mt. San Antonio College. Joining Hampton on the All-Conference First Team were three additional Huskies: sophomore guard Landon Winston (11.5 pts, 4 reb), freshman forward Adrionne Marcus (12 pts, 5 reb, tied for the SCC lead in field goal percentage at 68.5%), and sophomore point guard Jayden Barnes (10.3 pts, 4.1 assists).
Postseason Journey
Seeded 13th in the 2026 3C2A Men's Basketball SoCal Regional bracket, the Huskies earned a first-round victory on Wednesday, February 25, and now face the challenge of a second-round matchup against 4th-seeded Ventura College on Saturday, February 28. The 2026 California Community College State Championship will be held at Mt. San Antonio College on March 13, 15-16. The Huskies have the talent, the accolades, and the momentum.

Coach John Mosley: A Legacy of Leadership
Under Coach Mosley's leadership, ELAC continues to compete at the highest level of the South Coast Conference. In 13 seasons at ELAC, Mosley recorded a 268-54 record with 12 straight trips to the CCCAA state playoffs. ELAC also experienced appearances at the CCCAA State Finals, Elite 8 and Sweet Sixteen. In the 2024-25 season Mosley was named Coach of the Year for the 9th time as ELAC Men’s Basketball claimed the SCC Conference Championship and a 27-3 record. Coach Mosley’s coaching experience includes NCAA D1 & D2, NAIA D1, Junior College, High School, Professional Free Agent and AAU Coaching.
Mosley's influence extends beyond the court, shaping the lives of his players and fostering a culture of excellence within the program. “We are incredibly proud of our men's basketball team and everything they have accomplished this season. Earning a share of the SCC North Division championship is a testament to the dedication, discipline, and hard work of our student-athletes and the outstanding leadership of Coach Mosley and his staff. This program embodies what ELAC is all about, excellence in the classroom, on the court, and in the community," said ELAC President Monte E. Perez.

The East Los Angeles College Basketball camp is designed to provide instruction to improve basketball skills and fundamentals. Campers will be divided into groups according to size & age.
