Unlocking the Den: A Comprehensive Guide to UCLA's Den Pass Benefits
The UCLA Den Pass is a coveted access point to the vibrant world of UCLA Bruins athletics for students. It's more than just a ticket; it's a gateway to school spirit, community, and unforgettable game-day experiences. This article delves into the details of the Den Pass, exploring its benefits, costs, and how students can make the most of this opportunity.
What is the UCLA Den Pass?
The UCLA Den is the official student section, a roaring collective of Bruin fans who bring unmatched energy to UCLA Athletics events. The Den Pass is the key to unlocking this experience. By purchasing a Den Pass, UCLA students gain access to all regular season home games for UCLA Football, Men’s Basketball and Baseball, excluding USC rivalry matchups and other high-demand games.
Beyond just admission, Den Pass holders receive a free Den T-shirt, priority access to postseason tickets, and opportunities for exclusive giveaways. It's a chance to immerse oneself in the heart of Bruin pride.
Benefits of Being a Den Pass Holder
- Access to Games: The primary benefit is, of course, entry to UCLA Football, Basketball and Baseball home games.
- The Den T-Shirt: A free T-shirt that changes every year.
- Postseason Priority: Den Pass holders get priority access to postseason tickets.
- Access to Giveaways: Exclusive giveaways.
- Community and Spirit: Being part of The Den fosters a sense of community and school spirit, creating lasting memories and friendships.
The Cost of the Den Pass
The price of the Den Pass varies depending on when it is purchased. For the 2024-2025 season, the Den Pass was on sale for $165 before July 1, but after July 1, the price increased to $185. Every season, students are offered a discounted price, but with a time limit that incentivizes students to purchase the pass early. The 2025-2026 den pass costs $199.
The 4s Up Den Pass: A Deal for First-Year Students
First-year students have an even more enticing option: the "4s Up Pass." This pass grants Den Pass benefits for all four years at UCLA without the need for annual renewal. The 4's up pass, which is exclusive for first-year UCLA students, costs $500 and gives you access to all football and basketball home games for four years. You will also receive the t-shirt each year as well as other benefits. The 4’s up pass is essentially the same as purchasing four den passes in a bulk deal. It totals up to $125/year, which would save you $75 a year.

Rooter Bus Pass
Considering UCLA Football plays its home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, UCLA The Den provides buses that shuttle students from campus to the game. When purchasing a Den Pass, there’s an option to add on a Rooter Bus Pass for UCLA Football games. The pass provides access to the Rooter Bus - a shuttle bus that takes riders from the UCLA campus to the Rose Bowl and back again for all football games. The Rooter Bus Pass is $60, while a single ticket for the Rooter Bus is on average $20. A season-long bus pass can be added to a Den Pass for $40, or purchase a single-game bus pass the week of each home game.
Gaining Admission: A First-Come, First-Served System
All Den Pass tickets are digital; passholders must log in to their ticketing account and download their Den Pass to a mobile wallet, which will be scanned on gameday. Please do not present a screenshot of mobile tickets as screenshots cannot be scanned.
While Den passholders have a ticket for each UCLA Football or Men’s Basketball game, admission is not guaranteed. Students are admitted on a first-come-first-served basis, and overall admission is capped based on capacity at the Rose Bowl and Pauley Pavilion. UCLA Athletics recommends that passholders arrive to games early for a higher chance of admission. Although admission is not guaranteed, passholders do have priority access to all home football and men's basketball games, and they virtually always get seats for every game. All regular season UCLA athletic games are free for UCLA students when they present their BruinCards.
Is the Den Pass Worth It?
To determine if the Den Pass is a worthwhile investment, students should consider their level of interest in sports and campus life. If you are a big sports fan or you just want to get more involved in student life, getting the Den Pass would be a great investment. However, if you are not big on sports, then this might not be the best purchase for you. Even without the Den pass, students can buy tickets for individual games. So if you are still unsure, you can also try going to a few games and if you enjoy them you can buy the den pass later on!
There’s not an exact number of games that would allow you to break even, but a good estimate is about 6-8 football and basketball games combined. Individual student tickets to football games, usually $25-$35, are typically more expensive than basketball games, usually $15-$25, but the price for each game varies so it’s hard to determine an exact number of games needed to get your money’s worth. If you have the 4’s up pass, you would need to attend about 5-6 total games to break even.
