Flagler College admissions is somewhat selective with an acceptance rate of 78%. While not the most competitive, it's essential for prospective students to present a strong application. The regular admissions application deadline for Flagler - St. Augustine is March 1.

Acceptance Rate and Test Scores

Flagler College has an acceptance rate of 81%. This indicates that while not extremely competitive, applicants should still strive to present a well-rounded application. Students that get into Flagler - St. Augustine have an average SAT score between 990-1200 or an average ACT score of 19-24. Half the applicants admitted to Flagler who submitted test scores have an SAT score between 960 and 1180 or an ACT score of 19 and 25. However, one quarter of admitted applicants achieved scores above these ranges and one quarter scored below these ranges.

In light of this, please note the submission of test scores is optional (unless you are homeschooled). We also accept the CLT exam. Transfer Students

Applicants from junior or community colleges will be allowed no more than 64 semester hours of credit toward the completion of degree requirements at Flagler. Recipients of the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree are generally admitted at the junior level. Transfer credits will generally be granted for courses with a grade of “C” (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better from regionally accredited institutions. Students who have successfully completed the requirements for an A.A. The Registrar determines the amount of transfer credit and advanced standing allowed by the College. Sometimes, the department chair is consulted before awarding transfer credits.

On-Campus Living

Flagler College requires all incoming students to reside on campus for their first two years. Living on campus comes with a long list of benefits and perks.

While we strive to accommodate upper-class students in on-campus housing, availability may be limited. We encourage these students to gain experience living off campus, which is an essential step in preparing for life after graduation.

Residency Exemption

Students may request an exemption from the residency requirement under certain circumstances:

25-Mile Radius: A distance calculator is used to determine if the address where the student will be staying is within a 25-mile radius of campus.
Extended Family Member: If the student is living with an extended family member (grandparent, sibling, etc.), a driver's license or photo ID of the extended family member with the address where the student will be residing off-campus must be submitted with the Request for Residency Exemption AND a letter notarized by the student's parent/guardian confirming the family member's relationship to the student and the address where the student will be residing. The extended family is defined as the grandparent, the aunt/uncle, and a sibling not attending Flagler.
Other Extenuating Circumstances: Students who do not meet one or more of the criteria above but still wish to be exempt from the residency requirement may request an exemption based on an exceptional and compelling individual circumstance that cannot be accommodated within campus housing. Students who have not attended Flagler for two academic years and do not yet meet the above criteria will not be granted an exemption. These students must complete a housing application and live on campus per the College Residency Requirement. Those who fail to complete a housing application to live in campus housing will receive a housing assignment and will be assessed the housing cost associated with that assignment for each semester of the applicable academic year.

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Flagler offers a lot of financial aid. They do so through scholarships and work study programs. Students who qualify will receive work study. Those who apply will receive the scholarships. All students (domestic and international) are automatically considered for merit scholarships. Factors considered include the student’s weighted core GPA and highest overall test scores (if submitted). First-year students, if eligible, can receive between $1,000 and $6,000 per academic year. Flagler College awards a Flagler Castillo Scholarship of $3,000 per academic year to incoming first-year students who graduated from St.
