Financial Aid and Scholarships
Recognizing that tuition may still be a barrier for some families, Chesterton Academy offers financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
- Financial Aid: Many Chesterton Academies plan on offering financial aid through scholarships and tuition assistance to families who apply and qualify for aid. Chesterton Academy utilizes the services of TADS or FACTS to help fairly allocate their limited aid dollars.
- G.K. And Frances Chesterton Scholarships are available to families who apply and qualify. Chesterton Academy utilizes a third-party scholarship platform (TADS) to help fairly allocate their dollars. Scholarship awards are confidential, based on need and the scholarship award application is only reviewed after it is completed and the audit status is good.
To be considered for financial aid, families typically need to complete an application process, often through a third-party assessment tool like TADS or FACTS. The application process and application for financial assistance must be completed by May 9th, 2025 as well as all past-due bills paid before being considered for tuition assistance. Early application is highly recommended, as deadlines apply. For priority admissions decisions, applications are due by December 15 for the 2026-27 academic year.
Factors considered for financial aid include:
- Demonstrated financial need
- Student's grades, attendance, and behavior
- Parent's ability to assist with fundraising or volunteer activities
The Value of a Chesterton Academy Education
While tuition costs are a significant consideration, it's essential to understand the value proposition of a Chesterton Academy education.
- Classical Curriculum: Chesterton Academy offers a classical, liberal-arts education. The curriculum is historical: Greek and Roman philosophers, the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, early Church Fathers, great texts of the medieval and modern periods, down to contemporary thinkers and issues.
- Catholic Identity: Chesterton Academy integrates Catholic faith and values into all aspects of education. Yes. They do require daily Mass attendance for all students as well as four years of Catholic theology; the curriculum is infused with Catholic thought throughout the classes.
- Integrated Learning: Chesterton Academy aims for a breadth of integrated knowledge, a habit of disciplined curiosity about the world around us and above us, and a pattern of cheerful and virtuous living. For this school, ‘classical’ or ‘liberal-arts’ education means a particular goal, methodology, and curriculum.
- Community: Chesterton Academy fosters a strong sense of community among students, faculty, and families. The tradition of school uniforms goes back to Medieval times when caps and gowns were required at universities. Thus, all students regardless of background would dress alike, and all would show an outward sign of their dedication to the task of learning together within the university community. In other words, from the very beginning, uniforms have been in support of three goals: modesty, professionalism, and community, or school spirit.
Fundraising and Parent Involvement
To keep tuition costs down and support the school's mission, Chesterton Academy relies on fundraising efforts and parent involvement.

- Parent Fundraising Commitment: Chesterton Academy requires a minimum annual financial commitment of $1,500 per family, plus $500 in raffle ticket sales per student. Families who do not meet this commitment will have the remaining balance added to their tuition account on March 15, 2025.
- The Parent Commitment Program is a tradition at Chesterton Academy, fostering a vital partnership between parents and the school. Since the opening of the school, we have asked every family to fill a table and each student to sell raffle tickets at the annual Fleur-de-Lis Gala.
- Families are encouraged to give generously through various events, such as the Gala, All Saints’ Day of Giving, and golf outings.
- Volunteerism: Families are encouraged to actively support the school community by volunteering.
Application and Enrollment Process
The application and enrollment process at Chesterton Academy generally involves the following steps:
- Apply Online: Applications are submitted online through TADS, the enrollment management system.
- Placement Exam: All students are required to take a placement exam as part of the application and enrollment process. The placement exam is used as a diagnostic tool to ensure students are placed in the appropriate section of math or Latin, and to help identify areas of academic strengths and opportunities for growth.
- High School Placement Test (HSPT): All incoming 9th grade applicants are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) as part of the application process. The HSPT primarily serves as a tool for course placement and ones ability to thrive in a Chesterton Curriculum.
- Shadow Day: Prospective students are paired with one of our outstanding Saints ambassadors who share similar interests, offering a personalized opportunity to attend classes, tour the campus, and get a true Saints experience. The Shadow experience is a required step in the application process.
- Admissions Decision: Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family has a holistic admissions process. What do we look for in an applicant? We look for applicants who are open to seeing the goodness, beauty, and truth in creation, who seek to lead a virtuous life in service to God. We look for applicants who are willing to give their all to being Saints, and to helping and encouraging their classmates and others to become Saints. Academic ability, though important, is secondary to character in this process: students of diverse talents and gifts will be accepted. The process is competitive, and not everyone who applies will be accepted.
