Navigating Carthage College Scholarships: A Comprehensive Guide
Paying for college is a significant concern for many students and their families. At Carthage College, a variety of scholarships are available to help make education affordable. With 100 percent of Carthage students receiving financial aid, understanding the available options and requirements is essential. This article provides a detailed overview of the scholarships offered by Carthage College, along with eligibility criteria and application processes.
Understanding Carthage College's Commitment to Financial Aid
Carthage College recognizes the financial challenges students face when pursuing higher education. The college is committed to working with students and their families to navigate the financial aid process. Carthage’s 4-Year Graduation Guarantee further enhances affordability by ensuring students can complete their degree on time. Questions about financial aid packages, student accounts, scholarships, or loans can be directed to the relevant Carthage College office for personalized assistance.
Carthage Transfer Scholarships
Carthage College offers scholarships specifically for transfer students. These scholarships may incorporate all Carthage assistance, and can be combined with federal and state grants, but the total aid cannot exceed full tuition.
Eligibility and Application
To be considered for a Carthage Transfer Scholarship, students must be admitted to Carthage as a full-time, degree-seeking fall transfer student. The deadline for the Fall 2025 Transfer Scholarship has passed. Students interested in transferring for the Fall 2026 semester should complete the Fall 2026 Transfer Scholarship Application. Those considering starting in Spring 2026 or later are also encouraged to apply.
Maintaining Scholarship Eligibility
To maintain eligibility for Carthage scholarships, students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). This federal requirement ensures students are on track to complete their academic program successfully and on time. Warning letters are sent to students who are not meeting their scholarship terms, and the spring term is considered probationary. At the end of each spring term, the cumulative GPA is reviewed to determine scholarship renewal. Students wanting to have J-Term grades taken into consideration must submit a written request to the Carthage Office of Student Financial Services prior to the first day of J-Term classes.
