- GPA: Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Graduation: Applicants must have graduated by September from an Orange Unified School District (OUSD) high school OR from another high school while residing in the OUSD attendance area.
- Enrollment: Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college, university, community college or trade or technical school as a full-time student in the fall.

Assistance League of Orange has four different types of scholarships. The application period for 2026 will open on February 1.
- Nursing/Health-Related Fields: Scholarships are available for students planning to study Nursing or pursue an education in another health-related field.
- Arts: Scholarships are available for students planning to pursue study in the arts.
- Specific High Schools: This scholarship is available to students who are currently attending Richland High School or who have attended Richland for some period of time during the current school year. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Richland High School staff according to established criteria.

Ishmeet graduated from Las Positas College in Livermore and will be attending Yale University in the fall. “I am immensely thankful for the Amador Valley Assistance League’s volunteer efforts and community service initiatives."
- Thomas Chan: Received the $5,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Scholarship. Thomas graduated from Amador High School in Pleasanton and will be attending Harvard College in the fall. “It is my honor to receive this scholarship, and I will put it to good use and benefit our world in the future."
- Gianna Buscho: Received the $5,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Scholarship. Gianna graduated from Pleasanton Virtual Academy in Pleasanton and will be attending UC Santa Cruz in the fall. “This scholarship will make a difference to me by allowing me to reduce the cost of college."
- Laina Stifter: Received the $2,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Tri - Valley Community Scholarship. Laina graduated from Granada High School in Livermore. “No matter what obstacles come my way, I always strive to do my best-even when the journey seems impossible. Life has presented me with many mountains to climb, but I refuse to give up."
- Luca Moore: Received the $2,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Tri - Valley Community Scholarship. Luca graduated from Amador High School in Pleasanton. “I’ve lived in Pleasanton my whole life with my mom, my little brother Roman, and my grandma."
- Danielle Islas: The first recipient of the $3,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Las Positas College Transfer Scholarship. Danielle graduated from Las Positas College in Livermore and will be attending California State University East Bay in the fall.
- Joshua Skrzypczak: Received the $3,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Jean Cole Scholarship. Joshua graduated from Amador High School in Pleasanton and will be attending UCLA in the fall.
- David Peregrine: Received the $1,500 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Tri - Valley Community Scholarship. David graduated from Village High School in Pleasanton. “My parents have sacrificed so much to get me where I am."
- Cassandra Raphael: Received the $2,500 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Jean Cole Scholarship. Cassandra graduated from Foothill High School in Pleasanton. She has been accepted into the University of Portland Nursing Program. ALAV was impressed with her community service activities. She volunteered for her synagogue youth program and preschool program.
- Serena Helm: Received the $1,000 Assistance League® of Amador Valley Tri- Valley Community Scholarship. Serena graduated early from Valley High School in Dublin. She will attend Los Positas College in the fall semester and plans to transfer to American River College’s Funeral Services Program. Serena has proudly volunteered at Dublin’s Heritage Park and Museum, Valley Christian Church, and has provided homeless outreach.
The Application Process
The application process for Assistance League scholarships typically involves the following steps:
- Online Application: Completed online application package MUST be received by 12:00 midnight on the specified date.
- Notification: Notification will be made to the applicant on or about mid-April 2025.
- Recognition Luncheon: Those selected and a guest will be invited to a Recognition Luncheon at the Assistance League Chapter House on Friday, May 1, 2026. A certificate will be awarded to each recipient at that time.
- Confidentiality: Your application and its information will be kept strictly confidential.

Additional Scholarship Opportunities: College of DuPage Scholars Support Awards
In addition to Assistance League scholarships, students may also be eligible for other scholarship programs, such as the Scholars Support awards at College of DuPage (COD). These scholarships provide $2500 to assist individuals in achieving their educational goals.

Eligibility for COD Scholars Support Awards
Individuals or their family members can qualify if:
- You are a current COD student, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and have completed at least 9 credit hours that go towards the degree or certificate program in which you are currently enrolled.
- You are not a current COD student, but you are 21 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and want to improve career options through a degree or certificate program at COD.

Estimates indicate that 60-70% of College of DuPage graduates live and work in DuPage County after receiving their degrees. This highlights the significant impact that these scholarships can have on the local community.
