Early Life and High School Career at Kountze HS
Ashton J. Hall was born on January 24, 1987, to parents Dennis and Gwen Hall. Hall is a four-year letterwinner for coach Joubert at Kountze HS. At Kountze High School, Hall established himself as a dominant force. Hall helped Kountze win back-to-back state titles in 2004 and 2005, posting identical 36-2 records both seasons. As a senior, he averaged an impressive 25 points, 13 rebounds, four blocked shots, and three assists per game. His outstanding performance led to him being named Class 2A state player of the year and district MVP. As a junior, Hall averaged 22 points and 14 rebounds per game, earning him the district MVP title. As a sophomore, he averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds, earning first-team all-district honors. Hall helped Kountze post a four-year record of 130-14. Hall became the first two-time winner of the James Gamble "Mr. Inside" Award, which is given to the top forward or center in Southeast Texas.
