THRIVE Amarillo provides eligible students a last-dollar scholarship, meaning the scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, books and mandatory fees not covered by the Pell grant and other tuition assistance programs. The THRVE Amarillo scholarship program is a “last money in” tuition assistance program. Four community partners have committed to investing in the future success of Amarillo by dedicating funds to the THRIVE Amarillo program for the next six years. Those partners include the Amarillo Area Foundation, Amarillo College, Amarillo Independent School District and the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation. For a graduating senior from Pampa High School who participated in high school athletics and who exhibits community service and leadership. The recipient may attend a school of his/her choice and must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply.
Dallam, Hartley, and Sherman Counties: For graduating high school seniors from Dallam, Hartley, and Sherman Counties who plan to attend Texas A&M University.
Channing, Dalhart, Dumas, Stratford, and Sunray High Schools: For graduating seniors from Channing, Dalhart, Dumas, Stratford, and Sunray High Schools who plan to attend any accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States and major in Agriculture.

Geographic-Specific Scholarships

Carson, Donley, Gray, Hemphill, Roberts, or Wheeler Counties: For graduating high school seniors from Carson, Donley, Gray, Hemphill, Roberts or Wheeler counties who plan to attend an accredited regional college or university in the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle including Texas Tech University and South Plains Community College and major in any undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral field of study. This fund will provide a scholarship to Carson County graduating high school seniors who plan to attend Amarillo College or Frank Phillips College and study in a workforce, career, or skilled trades program. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 to be eligible to apply and recipient must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Castro County: For graduating high school seniors in Castro County who plan to attend Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University.
Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties: For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb counties of the Texas Panhandle who plan to attend Amarillo College and major in any field of study. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle who plan to attend Frank Phillips College and major in any field of study. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle planning to attend Clarendon College. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle planning to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered. For seniors graduating from high schools located in Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle majoring in Agriculture at West Texas A&M University. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle majoring in Agriculture at Texas Tech University. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle majoring in Human Sciences at Texas Tech University. While donors prefer that students major in Human Sciences, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Human Sciences major criteria, other majors will be considered.
Ochiltree, Hansford, Lipscomb, Hutchinson, Roberts or Hemphill counties: For a college student that is a current resident of or graduated from a high school located in Ochiltree, Hansford, Lipscomb, Hutchinson, Roberts or Hemphill counties currently enrolled in the medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental fields, or physician’s assistant at any accredited college or university.

Field of Study-Specific Scholarships

Agriculture: For graduating seniors from Channing, Dalhart, Dumas, Stratford, and Sunray High Schools who plan to attend any accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States and major in Agriculture. For seniors graduating from high schools located in Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle majoring in Agriculture at West Texas A&M University. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered. For graduating high school seniors from Wheeler, Roberts, Gray, Hemphill, Ochiltree and Lipscomb Counties of the Texas Panhandle majoring in Agriculture at Texas Tech University. While donors prefer that students major in Agriculture, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the Agriculture major criteria, other majors will be considered.
Human Science, Home Economics, or Family and Consumer Science: For graduating high school seniors from District One of the Texas Agricultural Extension Service and plans to attend the college or university of his/her choice and major in their field of choice with preference given to those majoring in Human Science, Home Economics, or Family and Consumer Science.
Education: For graduating seniors from schools located in Senate District 31, pursuing a degree/teacher certification in education. Must have minimum GPA of 85 (3.4). They may attend any accredited college in the State of Texas.
Medical Fields: For a college student that is a current resident of or graduated from a high school located in Ochiltree, Hansford, Lipscomb, Hutchinson, Roberts or Hemphill counties currently enrolled in the medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental fields, or physician’s assistant at any accredited college or university.
Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Sports and Exercise Science: For college students from the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who are currently enrolled in and pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy (the Pre and Assistant programs also apply) or Sports and Exercise Science with the intent to seek an advanced degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy at Amarillo College, West Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, or the University of Texas.
Biological Science: For a graduating high school senior of Claude High School majoring in the field of biological science.

Dimmitt Greer H. Estes American Legion Post No. 57 Scholarship: This scholarship was established in 2019. This fund will provide a scholarship(s) to graduating high school seniors, with preference given to Palo Duro High School seniors who plan to attend a school of their choice and major in a field of their choice. citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.
Brandy Lee Leard Memorial Scholarship: The Brandy Lee Leard Memorial Scholarship will provide a scholarship(s) to graduating high school seniors, currently enrolled college students, returning college students, or GED certificate holders from the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who are expecting a baby or who are actively involved in parenting their child and have the desire to obtain a post-secondary education. Recipients must maintain 2.5 cum GPA.
Alvin A. Lyles Scholarship: Restricted to City of Amarillo employees, spouses, children, or grandchildren of the employee.
Cactus Feeders or Spike Box Ranch Scholarship: For Cactus Feeders or Spike Box Ranch employees, their spouses, or their children who are upper level college students (Junior/Senior classification) or graduate students. Must have a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA to apply.
Hope Choice Scholarship: For current or former clients of Hope Choice (formerly CareNet) Pregnancy Center, with preference given to students who plan to attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Recipient must be a mother to a child or a birth mother of a child placed for adoption, following a pregnancy test received at CareNet. Applicants must include a letter from CareNet staff verifying their status as a current or former client.
J.W. Jr. and Betty C. Wright Scholarship: For college bound members of First United Methodist Church in Pampa. The recipient may major in any field of study.
Flight Nurse Scholarship: For current flight nurses from the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who plan to advance their education. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible to apply. Applicants must hold one of the following flight certifications: CEN, CCRN, or CFRN.
Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative (DSEC) Scholarship Fund: The Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative (DSEC) Scholarship Fund will provide a one-time scholarship to students who plan to attend an accredited state-supported university, private university, junior college, or vocational school. Eligible applicants must be a member of DSEC or dependent of an active member of DSEC that resides with the active member; or be a dependent of a DSEC employee. High school seniors, as well as any student or prospective student who has not previously received this scholarship, will be eligible to apply.
North Plains Electric Cooperative Scholarship: For high school or college students who are active members or are dependents of active members and that reside with the member of the North Plains Electric Cooperative. Applicants can attend any university or school of their choice and can major in any field.
4-H Scholarship: Must be a 4-H graduating senior who has attended at least 50% of 4-H meetings during senior year. Applicants must have been in 4-H for 4 years, and must have completed at least 1 project per year and submitted a recordbook during that time. Student can attend college/university of their choice. Student must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours with a 2.5 GPA BEFORE scholarship is paid.
Texas Seed Trade Association Scholarship: For graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students in the State of Texas who are the children of dues paying members of the Texas Seed Trade Association. Employees must be employed at least 2 years prior to the date of family member’s application.
Scholarship for Students with Disabilities: For graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled/returning college or graduate students from the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle who have a documented physical or learning disability.
Scholarship for Students with Cancer Diagnosis: For current college students who have completed 25% of a four year degree. Must have graduated from a high school within the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Students that have completed a bachelor’s degree and are continuing in a medical education are eligible. Applicant must have received a cancer diagnosis prior to their 18th birthday.
