Early Promise and Alabama Arrival
Agiye Hall, born on September 28, 2002, first gained recognition as a standout athlete at Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida, where he excelled in both football and track. His performance as a senior, with 55 receptions for 1050 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, solidified his status as a top prospect. Rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals.com, and even a five-star recruit by On3.com, Hall drew attention from numerous prestigious programs. On3 actually had him as the No. 11 overall recruit nationally, the No. 1 wide receiver in the class.
In April 2020, Hall committed to the University of Alabama, choosing the Crimson Tide over offers from LSU, Georgia, and other prominent schools. At 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Hall was ranked the No. 5 wide receiver in the ESPN Junior 300 and No. 52-ranked recruit overall. He joined a team known for its offensive firepower, with coach Nick Saban having already secured three ESPN 300 receivers in the 2020 class: Thaiu Jones-Bell, Traeshon Holden, and Javon Baker. Alabama also boasted the No. 1-ranked dual-threat quarterback in Bryce Young and two ESPN 300 running backs in Jase McClellan and Roydell Williams. Freshman Season and Missed Opportunity
As a true freshman in 2021, Hall appeared in seven games for Alabama, recording four receptions for 72 receiving yards. In the 2021 National Championship game, with key players like Jameson Williams and John Metchie sidelined due to injury, Hall had an opportunity to shine. However, this chance did not translate into a significant impact on the field, and his journey began to unravel.
Transfer to Texas and Further Troubles
Instead of building on his freshman year, Hall's behavior reportedly led to his departure from Alabama. He transferred to the University of Texas, hoping to revitalize his career. During his time with the Longhorns, Hall played in three games during the 2022 season, managing just one catch for seven yards.

His tenure at Texas was short-lived and marred by off-field issues. In August 2022, Hall was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, leading to an indefinite suspension by Texas Head Coach Steve Sarkisian. Following the season, it was reported that Hall was no longer with the Texas program.
Brief Stint with UCF and Legal Problems
After leaving Texas, Hall attempted to walk on at the University of Central Florida (UCF). However, according to reports, he did not join the program.
The most serious incident occurred when Hall was arrested on December 4th for attempting to transport 40 pounds of marijuana from California to Florida. He checked a suitcase full of marijuana at the airport, resulting in his arrest and a bond set at $500,000. Hall's legal team argued that his actions were driven by financial strain and mental health issues, including anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. In June 2023, Hall pled no-contest and was given 18 months of supervised probation, with the court withholding adjudication of the case. As part of his probation, he was required to attend counseling sessions regularly and continue his college education. Otherwise, the charge would have been carried for a minimum of three years and a maximum of 30 years.
