The Yorkville Freshman Academy
In 2008, the Yorkville High School Academy, also known as the Yorkville Freshman Academy, was established across the street from the main high school building. The Yorkville Freshman Academy serves as a dedicated learning environment for ninth-grade students.
A proposed $275 million plan for new schools and expanded building space is needed because the district’s current facilities situation is “unsustainable” with the growing enrollment. A new academic wing is planned for the high school, enabling all the students at the Freshman Academy to be moved into the one main high school building. Zediker said transitioning students into the main high school building will help reduce the “big safety” concern of students crossing Game Farm Road multiple times per day as they currently go from building to building.
Athletics and Extracurricular Activities
The Yorkville Foxes compete in the Southwest Prairie Conference, with school colors of red and white. Yorkville High School provides a wide range of athletic opportunities for its students.

Yorkville Christian provides an Academic Support Center which serves as a guided study hall for students who require special accommodations. Our students do not wear uniforms. Chapel is held every Thursday. Yorkville Christian offers Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ Basketball, Girls’ Volleyball, Wrestling, Soccer, Baseball, Rodeo, Girls’ Softball, Cross Country, Track & Field, Cheer and Golf. Since Yorkville Christian School opened its doors, 100% of our students have graduated.
