The school has two campuses. The lower school campus is nestled in Alapocas Woods on 30 acres. The middle/upper school campus is located in the center of the Alapocas neighborhood on 25 acres.
Wilmington Friends School offers a college preparatory curriculum-including athletics, the arts and community service-in which Quaker values and high expectations are mutually supportive. The defining belief of Quakerism is that there is "that of God" in everyone. That belief gives rise to a school community that welcomes a variety of faith traditions and where we share an obligation to seek and answer what is best in ourselves and in others.
Tuition Inclusions and Payment Options
Wilmington Friends School tuition includes the use of a school-issued device: iPads for K - grade 3 and MacBooks for grades 4-12. A no-interest, 10-month tuition payment plan is offered through Blackbaud Tuition Management Systems. Information on this program is sent with enrollment and re-enrollment contracts each year.
Understanding Financial Aid
Wilmington Friends School is committed to making its exceptional educational experience accessible. Need-based financial aid is a grant awarded to those families who qualify; it is not a loan. It is available for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade to current Wilmington Friends School families and to those applying for admission. Awards are made on a case-by-case basis to families who have completed a financial aid application and who qualify for financial aid, as determined by their application. Financial aid awards fund a portion of tuition.

The financial aid committee uses FAST’s methodology to determine what a family might reasonably expect to contribute toward educational expenses. The School's financial aid committee will continue to review applications on a rolling basis until funds for the coming school year are depleted. Financial aid applications do not affect a student's admission to Wilmington Friends.
As a Quaker school, Wilmington Friends believes that each individual brings a unique set of gifts and talents to the community, making it difficult to distinguish among them for the purpose of offering "merit-based" aid. However, they encourage any family that feels they need assistance to apply for financial aid. "Need" covers a wide range, from substantial need to a need for moderate assistance to bridge the gap between what a family can afford and the full cost of tuition. Families receiving financial aid must submit a new application and up-to-date tax returns each year they wish to receive aid.
The Application Process
Applications are available! The application deadline is December 15. Along with the application, you will need to submit several documents.
For students applying for K-5th grade, grade-level assessments will be completed during a visit to the school. You will also need to submit a teacher recommendation.
Middle school applicants must submit a student questionnaire, a parent/guardian questionnaire, a records release form to share with the student’s current school, and four teacher recommendation forms.
