Campus Tours

Villanova offers student-guided tours throughout the year for prospective undergraduate students. Designed for high school juniors, these tours provide an opportunity to learn more about the community, academic programs, and campus life. These tours are offered when classes are in session, allowing prospective students and their families to speak with current students and experience the campus firsthand. Blue Key's mission is to create a positive admissions experience for prospective students and their families representing the core values of Villanova: Veritas, Unitas, Caritas.

Architectural Beauty and Open Spaces

Two hundred and sixty acres of lush greenery and beautiful collegiate architecture define the campus, offering a relaxing open space for students to unwind and connect with nature. Take a campus tour, meet our students and discover our beautiful architecture and relaxing open space.

Villanova Inn

The Villanova University-owned and operated Inn was designed as a fine hotel and recently renovated. The Inn balances comfort with modern convenience and offers guests a setting that is fresh and comfortable with the gracious hospitality that is a Villanova tradition.

Dining Options

Villanova recognizes the importance of providing diverse and inclusive dining options for its students, including those with dietary restrictions.

On-Campus Dining

“As a student at Villanova without access to my own kitchen, navigating food options with celiac disease can be quite challenging. While the dining halls do make an effort to support students with dietary restrictions, there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to providing safe, inclusive meals for those with gluten allergies. When it comes to on-campus dining, I feel the most confident eating at the Connelly Center and Donahue Court. The Conn offers consistent daily options, which gives me peace of mind knowing I’ll have something safe to eat. Donahue Court-affectionately known as Spit-offers the most flexibility with its rotating stations, including burrito bowls, sandwiches, and grill items.

Off-Campus Dining

Off campus, there are several amazing gluten-free-friendly restaurants in the area. Some of my go-to favorites include Lovebird, Goodness Bowls, Rosa Mexicano, Not Your Average Joe’s, and DePaul’s Table. Lovebird especially stands out, as it’s a dedicated gluten-free restaurant with a wide variety of dishes that are hard to come by for those with celiac.

Mapping and Visual Representation of the Campus

Visual representations of the campus play a crucial role in helping individuals navigate and understand the layout of Villanova University.

3D Perspective Campus Mapping

The key piece of information needed from our clients to effectively complete a 3D perspective campus mapping project are good, high-resolution (and reasonably current) oblique aerial photographs depicting at least 85-90+ percent of the property to be mapped from the same elevation and direction that our clients wish to see depicted in their finished campus maps. If our clients do not have access to reasonably-current oblique aerial photographs of their property, we can also arrange for these services with our aerial photography partners on their behalf. Costs will depend upon location and the amount of urgency required in completing a photo shoot. However, we have generally seen photography fees of between $750 and $1,000 US for a majority of the aerial photography work we have had done in the United States.

In addition to oblique aerial photography, we also generally like to receive copies of a property's site plan, along with any previous examples of campus maps for the property that we can obtain, as that provides us access to a very efficient method of ensuring a very accurate finished-product. Site plans are usually available from an institution's Physical Plant, Facilities Department or Campus Architect.

Map Maintenance and Updates

That decision that is completely up to our clients. They can maintain the images themselves. They can hire mapformation to maintain the imagery for them. They can even hire a third party to maintain the maps for them if they so choose (though we hope that is not the case)! Our firm is obviously hoping that we will be able to develop long-term, fruitful relationships with all of our clients, and we enjoy having the opportunity to maintain the maps we have created in perpetuity! However, this is a decision that is completely up to our clients. Roughly half of our clients choose to have us maintain all aspects of the imagery we have developed, while 80-85 percent of our clients will have us perform at least "major" updates as changes occur.

File Formats

Our firm will typically deliver finished artwork in SketchUp (.skp) format, as well as a variety of "2D" output formats that clients might desire, including .jpg, .tif, .eps, .pdf, .bmp, .png, .dxf and .dwg. The editable .skp file format would require that our clients have a copy of SketchUp in order to edit the map in three-dimensional form. Clients could, however, overlay information on top of any "static" views that are generated in 360-degrees by importing .tif, .bmp, .jpg or .png graphics into any raster software program, such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel PhotoPaint. Our firm prides itself on delivering artwork that will immediately be functional for use in print, signage and web-based projects. This is very important to us, as we view the maps that we develop as needing to support the overall branding and identity efforts of our clients. We also firmly believe that having consistent imagery across print, signage and web-based presentations will reduce confusion experienced by individuals as they attempt to navigate their way to a destination.

City Prints

Villanova offers a variety of finishing options for all our City Prints. Each print is printed on high-quality 105# Stardream Pearlescent Paper.

  • Framing Options: The size of this frame will vary depending on the size of the map you created. Frames are 16.5″ x 16.5″ for 12″ x 12″ prints and frames are 16.5″ x 20.5″ for 12″ x 16″ maps. Our frames have a black 2.75” wide heavy polystyrene molding. We choose to mount the prints without a glass/acrylic overlay, which shows off the unique properties of our paper stock when it hits the light. The back of the frame is sealed with a dust cover for added protection. The size of this frame will vary depending on the size of the map you created. Frames are 23″ x 23″ for 12″ x 12″ prints and frames are 15.75″ x 19.75″ for 12″ x 16″ maps. Both frames have a black 1.75” wide genuine-wood molding. The print is enhanced with a soft white acid-free mat, which is bevel cut and placed on top of the print. The print and matt are protected by a premium crystal-clear acrylic overlay. The back of the frame is sealed with a dust cover for added protection.
  • Canvas Options: The size of canvases will vary depending on the size of the map you created. Canvas are 30″ x 30″ or 14" x 14" for square pmaps and canvases are 30″ x 40″ or 14″ x 18″ for rectangular maps. We print directly on high-quality canvas, then stretch the image over heavy gauge 1.5″-deep wood stretcher bars.

Please note that all City Prints are printed on demand just for you and we don't stock them. For this reason, all City Prints are not eligible for return. We fully guarantee our products and will do everything in our power to ensure you're satisfied with your purchase. We'd sold 50,000 City Prints to happy homes and we want to continue this trend.

Augustinian Values and Inclusivity

“As part of our Augustinian values of Veritas, Unitas, Caritas - Truth, Unity and Love - Villanova seeks to be a welcoming and inclusive community that respects members of all backgrounds and faiths. The university’s guidance comes after Christian grade schools have come under fire for reaffirming Christian teachings and rejecting transgenderism. The guidance garnered criticism from Catholic commentator and Duquesne University theological doctoral student John Monaco. “Note, there is no actual or explicit reference to God, Jesus Christ, or any magisterial/spiritual authorities. The Church encourages sensitivity, compassion, and respect, but never at the sake of suppressing the truth,” Monaco said. “The Catholic Church teaches that all human beings are created in the image and likeness of God (Gen 1:27).
