UCF Football Unveils New Uniforms: A Nod to the Past, Soaring to the Future
UCF unveiled new Nike football uniforms ahead of the 2025 season. The new core uniforms, designed and supplied by Nike, come in two colors: white with black numbers and black with white numbers. Before the first season of Scott Frost's second tenure in charge of the program, the Knights unveiled new Nike core uniforms, blending a few classic elements with a modern look that "pays homage to multiple eras in UCF football history."

From the design of the numbers on the chest to the Pegasus wings on the shoulders, the new UCF football uniforms that the school announced on Tuesday commemorate every era of the program since its inception. The new look pays homage to multiple eras in the program’s 46-year history.
Key Design Elements and Inspiration
"Knighted Eras" Numbering
The most striking change for UCF's new uniforms is the bold typeface used for the numbers, known as "Knighted Eras." The numbers on the front, back and shoulder pads are the most apparent changes to the previous design. The updated number font features a golden drop shadow, an homage to the 1998 season when former UCF quarterback Daunte Culpepper finished top-10 in Heisman voting, the school said in an Instagram post. Notches in the numerals were first introduced in 2013 when the Knights won the American Athletic Conference for the first time and defeated Baylor 52-42 in the Fiesta Bowl. The sizing resembles those of UCF's jerseys used from 2016-21, which is also the last time the Knights had numbers on their shoulders. They also have unique notched edges, similar to the Block Knights wordmark in the end zones at UCF’s stadium, and a bigger, bolder look similar to the numbers the Knights wore from 2016-21, the post states.
Pegasus Wings: A Symbol of Limitless Potential
The shoulders employ a design from the school’s 2023 “Mission VII Space Uniform” - oversized Pegasus wings that are used to “embody UCF’s vision of limitless possibilities in reaching for the stars and soaring to new heights” - the school said. Pegasus wings were added to the uniform's shoulders.
Polaris Stars: Honoring Past, Present, and Future
Along the sides of the pants is the last notable detail, but certainly not the least. Three Polaris stars were added to represent UCF’s past, present and future.

Space Game Tradition
UCF is set to play its annual Space Game on Nov. on FS1. The Knights debuted their "Mission IX" space uniforms for the Big 12 game against the Cougars. Air Force and is a leader in hypersonics and space propulsion research. Auction for this year's Space Game uniforms will open at noon Tuesday, Oct. 28 and close at noon Monday, Nov. 10. A New Era for UCF Athletics
This uniform makeover was done with Nike, which UCF renewed its contract with in 2023. UCF football announced a new era on social media June 24. Linebacker Keli Lawson (No. 0) and tight end Kylan Fox (No. 1) modeled the threads. UCF is a proud member of the Big 12 Conference.
