Navigating the UCF Admissions Timeline: When Will You Hear Back?

Students from across the nation and around the world are drawn to Orlando, the heart of Central Florida, to pursue their higher education goals at the University of Central Florida (UCF). UCF offers access to extraordinary academics, caring faculty, and endless opportunities, boasting more than 245-degree programs. Understanding the UCF admissions timeline is crucial for prospective students. Admission to UCF is competitive, so applying early is highly recommended.

Application Deadlines and Early Action

As an incoming first-year student, you should apply between September and November of your high school senior year if you plan to enroll the following summer or fall semester. By applying early, you may benefit from scholarship consideration and housing availability. For priority merit scholarship consideration, FTIC (First Time in College) students applying for summer and fall should submit a complete application for admission, including the application fee or waiver, SPARK Form, and official SAT, ACT, or CLT test scores by November 1. Scholarship funding is limited, and the Scholarship Committee reviews admitted FTIC students until all scholarship funding has been allocated.

UCF offers a non-binding Early Action application process for freshmen students applying to the summer and fall terms. Students who do not wish to apply Early Action or who miss the Early Action deadline may apply and will be reviewed beginning in early January on a modified rolling basis.

Minimum Requirements

The short answer: yes. UCF requires a minimum of 18 high school units to be considered for admission. Please note: Meeting these minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee admission. Grades in Advanced Placement, AICE, dual enrollment, honors and International Baccalaureate courses will be given additional weight in your GPA computation if the courses are considered academic core (English, math, science, social science, or foreign language).
