Tyler Perry Studios' Dreamers Internship Program: Launching Entertainment Careers

Tyler Perry Studios (TPS) in East Point, Georgia, is once again opening its doors to aspiring entertainment professionals through the Dreamers Internship Program. This initiative provides college students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the film and television industry, nurturing the next generation of Georgia's entertainment workforce.

A Comprehensive Overview of the Dreamers Internship Program

The Dreamers Internship Program is a 6-week, paid internship designed for individuals passionate about pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. Participants will be immersed in the world of Tyler Perry Studios, a major motion picture studio located on the historic grounds of the former Fort McPherson army base. Acquired by Tyler Perry in 2015, the 330-acre lot boasts forty buildings on the National Registry of Historic Places, twelve purpose-built sound stages, 200 acres of greenspace, and a diverse backlog.

Immersive Rotational Experience

The program offers a rotational experience, allowing interns to explore various aspects of the entertainment industry. Participants will rotate between roles in production, studio operations, accounting, wardrobe, and other departments. This comprehensive approach provides a broad understanding of the different facets involved in film and television production.

Hands-on Learning and Skill Development

Interns gain practical experience, working alongside industry professionals and contributing to real-world projects. This immersive environment fosters skill development and allows interns to apply their knowledge in a professional setting.

Program Structure and Key Components

The internship program is structured as a 160-hour assignment. Interns rotate within operations, exposing them to client services, construction, studio operations, security, facilities, and warehouse duties. They also participate in vendor/client drive-alongs with their partners. During the final week of the internship, participants can choose a department to focus on, gaining deeper knowledge of that specific discipline.
