Financial Assistance: Making Trinity Accessible
Trinity School is deeply committed to making its quality Christian education accessible to a diverse community through its flexible tuition program. Trinity School funds a robust and wide-ranging, need-based financial aid program that aims to bridge the gap between a family’s financial circumstances and their child’s pursuit of a Trinity education. More than 30% of Trinity School families benefit from tuition below the full rate, with the school awarding up to $2.5 million in assistance annually. Financial aid is based on the family’s ability to pay as demonstrated by the information submitted in the Parent Financial Statement (PFS).
Trinity Academy also offers financial assistance to families who have a demonstrated financial need. Last year, Trinity Academy awarded over $700,000 to 30% of its student body. At Trinity Academy, financial aid is based on need, and aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The highest awards typically given are just under 50% of tuition.
Per Atlanta Area Association of Independent School (AAAIS) guidelines, eligibility for financial assistance at Trinity School is based solely on demonstrated need. In preparing its students to flourish, Trinity School believes that economic diversity enhances its overall school community to the benefit of all its families.
The Clarity Application Process
Both Trinity School and Trinity Academy use the Clarity financial aid platform to determine the level of financial need of applicant families. The application for financial assistance and determination of eligibility is processed through Clarity, an online financial aid platform. Clarity uses the financial information you provide through the Clarity application to calculate an estimated amount that your family can contribute to the cost of a Trinity education.
The Clarity application is also mobile-friendly, allowing you to complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 or $65 fee to submit (depending on the school), and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity application for no additional charge. Please note that Clarity will automatically waive the fee if it determines the level of need qualifies for the waiver.

Factors Considered in Determining Financial Aid
Financial Assistance awards are need-based and are determined after a thorough review conducted by the Financial Assistance Committee. In reviewing your Clarity application, the Financial Assistance Committee will determine demonstrated need by considering factors such as:
- Net income
- Assets
- Number of dependents
- Number of students attending tuition-charging institutions
- Any unusual expenses such as medical costs or educational debt
- Other sources of income such as support from relatives
The committee will also take into consideration your need relative to other families applying for assistance. Every family receiving assistance is asked to pay some portion of the tuition.
Important Deadlines and Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for financial assistance, you must complete and submit all required documents by the specified deadlines. For Trinity School, the deadline is January 16, 2026. For new Trinity Academy students who want to receive a financial aid determination letter with the acceptance letter, applications must be completed by February 1, 2026. All other financial aid candidates should have their applications completed by April 1, 2026. Any applications submitted after April 1 will only be considered based on the remaining available funds.

New applications for financial assistance and supporting documentation must be filed each year through Clarity. Changes in your financial status may affect the receipt or amount of assistance. Your child's account must be kept current as financial standing is a factor in determining awards for subsequent years. The student must be in good standing both academically and in conduct, as determined by the division head or Head of School in order to be considered for financial assistance for subsequent years.
If applying to Trinity without requesting financial aid, a family cannot apply for aid for 2 academic years, unless there is a significant and sudden change in a family’s financial circumstances.
Additional Financial Aid Opportunities
Trinity Academy offers any current family up to $1,000 for the enrollment of a new family, to be applied toward tuition. A new family will be asked how they first heard about Trinity and who invited them to an event or urged them to contact Trinity. If more than one current family has had significant influence on a new family’s enrollment, the amount will be divided evenly between these families.
Trinity Academy also requires those who plan to apply for Financial Assistance to also apply for and complete all steps related to the NC Opportunity Scholarship. The Opportunity Scholarship is renewable and provides up to $7,000 per year per student. The state has planned a significant increase in annual funding through the 2031-2032 school year.
The Education Student Accounts (ESA+) program is available to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Funds can be used to pay school tuition, as well as expenses such as speech therapy, tutoring services, and educational technology for families who homeschool their students. The funding is suitable for students with disabilities.
Payment Plans and Other Fees
Trinity School offers a monthly payment plan, where the total student financial obligation is divided by ten. A $450 fee is added into the oldest child’s enrollment contract. The first payment is made during online re-enrollment and must be submitted along with the digitally signed re-enrollment contract by Friday, February 28, 2025. VCPay Autopay must be set up to process the remaining nine payments. Payments 2-10 will be processed on the 5th of each month from April 5, 2025, through December 5, 2025.
Trinity School will not refund or cancel unpaid tuition fees in the event of absences, withdrawals or dismissal.
At Trinity Academy, there are several other fees to consider:
- Application Fee (for new students only): $150. This one-time fee is due at the time of application and is non-refundable except in the case that the school does not have space for your student.
- Enrollment Fee: All students pay a yearly $400 enrollment fee. The fee is due online when submitting the enrollment packet and contract.
- Security Fee: Each family is charged a $30 monthly security fee-about $1 per day-to help keep our children safe. This fee is billed monthly through FACTS.
- Technology Fees: Incoming freshmen receive a Chromebook, with a $110 annual fee. After graduation, the device is theirs to keep. Technology fees for younger students cover Chromebook carts in the classroom.
Tuition and fees paid by credit card incur a 3% surcharge. Registration fees and athletic fees are in addition to tuition.
Additional Programs and Discounts
Trinity School offers Extended Programs (EP), a robust after-school program with Core Classes and Special Classes. Core Classes are a mix of structured and unstructured after-school activities led by Extended Programs Teachers. Special Classes focus on students’ interests and are led by Trinity Teachers or experts from the community. The prices for Extended Programs are based on a five-day week, and financial assistance families receive a discount for after-school programs. Students can also drop in to Extended Programs at any time for a fee of $20 per hour.
Trinity Academy offers a discount to families with three or more children attending the academy. Full tuition and fees apply to the two oldest children. Beginning with the third child, a 40% discount on tuition will be given.
New in 2025, Trinity Academy is offering people who are full-time shepherding or teaching pastors a $2500 discount per child. They can qualify for financial aid on top of that.
