Fall Term 2025

The Fall Term 2025 presents a structured timeline of academic activities.

  • Fall classes and Change of Schedule period begins: August 25 (M)
  • Last day to drop or add first 7-week courses: August 28 (Th)
  • Labor Day Holiday (TU Closed): September 1 (M)
  • Change of Schedule period ends. Last day to drop a course with no grade posted to academic record. Last day to add a course: September 3 (W)
  • Last day to withdraw from first 7-week courses with a grade of "W": September 24 (W)
  • Mid-term and end of first 7-week courses: October 14 (T)
  • Second 7-week courses begin: October 15 (W)
  • Fall Break (No classes - TU Open): October 17 (F)
  • Last day to drop or add second 7-week courses: October 20 (M)
  • Last day to withdraw from full-term courses with a grade of "W." Last day to change to Pass or Audit grading option: November 3 (M)
  • Last day to withdraw from second 7-week courses with a grade of "W.": November 14 (F)
  • Thanksgiving Holiday (No classes - TU Closed): November 26 - 30 (W-Su)

Summer Term 2026

These include a 10-week session, two 5-week sessions, and a 7-week session. Each session has its own specific deadlines for adding, dropping, and withdrawing from courses.

Emergency Closing Policy

In the event of inclement weather or other emergencies, Towson University will communicate schedule changes or cancellations through various channels. Announcements will be broadcast over major radio and TV stations, including:

Schedule adjustments will also be available on the Towson University Information Line: 410-704-2000. Please DO NOT call the university police department with university closing-related questions.

The university will not post an announcement that the university is open. When the main campus is closed, all events (including those sponsored by off-campus organizations) are cancelled. The university will not make any announcements about individual department or program activities. Off-campus programs and courses adhere to the announcements applicable to the off-campus facility.
