At its July 14, 2016 meeting, the Board of Selectmen appointed a five-member committee to review a proposal to expand the membership of the Greenwich Board of Education from eight to ten members. The appointment of the Selectmen’s Board of Education Charter Revision Committee is a follow-up to a January 2015 Charter Revision presentation made by the Law Department to the Selectmen, as well as a response to a request made by residents and members of the Representative Town Meeting. At its May 30, 2017, the Board of Selectmen voted to appoint a Committee to continue review of the Town Charter in regards to the Board of Education. This is the charge for the Committee which shall report back to the Board of Selectmen: Specifically, the Committee is charged to “review a proposal to add the Board of Education to Section 66 and 67 of the Town Charter.

As a result, proficiency levels are not comparable between different states and year-over-year proficiency levels within a district may not be comparable because states may change their proficiency measurements. To protect student privacy, percentages are reported as ranges for groups of 300 students or fewer.
