Tender Learning Centre (TLC) provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children's growth and happiness are paramount. With multiple locations, including Wilmington and Burlington, TLC offers comprehensive programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-age children up to fourteen years old. Comprehensive Programs for Every Age Group
Tender Learning Centre offers a wide array of programs tailored to different age groups, ensuring that each child receives the appropriate care and attention they need to thrive.
Infant Care
TLC features dedicated infant rooms designed to cater to the unique needs of the youngest learners, typically ranging from two months to seventeen months. The infant program is divided into two age groups:
Younger Infant Room (2-10 months): In this room, the schedule is customized to match each child's individual needs, based on feedback from the parents. Each child receives one-on-one care from the teachers, as well as has playtime with toys, swings, and bouncers within the room. On nice days, teachers will take the infants for a walk in our strollers to get fresh air. The ratio is seven children to two teachers.
Older Infant Room (10-17 months): Similar to the younger infant room, the schedule in this room is also tailored to each child's needs. Typically, the child has two naps per day, one-on-one time with the teachers, crafting activities, as well as playtime on the mats with toys. On nice days, teachers will take the infants for a walk in our strollers and to one of our toddler playgrounds once they are able to walk. The ratio is seven children to two teachers.

Toddler Programs
The Toddler Room at TLC caters to children aged fifteen months to two years old. Activities in this room include story time, songs, art projects, bubbles, and much more, with all activities remaining flexible to meet the changing needs of the children.
Toddler Room (15 months - 2 years): The Toddler class has a more structured schedule with two snack times, lunch, and one afternoon nap. They have dedicated outside time twice a day in one of our two toddler playgrounds. The ratio is two teachers with nine children.
Older Toddler Room: The curriculum is designed to continue to develop their knowledge of colors, shapes of the alphabet, weather, and nursery rhymes. The children learn a lot through interactive play, activities, stories, and weekly themes. They have dedicated outside time twice a day in one of three age-appropriate playgrounds. The ratio is three teachers with thirteen children in this room. The children move up to the Preschool room when they are 2.9 - 3 years or developmentally ready.
Preschool Programs
TLC's Preschool program is divided into multiple classrooms to cater to different age groups and developmental stages.
Preschool Room for Three-Year-Olds: In this Preschool class, there are a lot of themes where we incorporate activities and language arts. The children learn to write the alphabet and their names. Once each child is ready, pre-reading skills and phonics are introduced. Math, Science, Social Studies, as well as Arts and Crafts are an important part of this class. They have dedicated outside time twice a day in one of three age-appropriate playgrounds, including the main playground which has swings, slides, and play structures. The ratio is one teacher to ten children or two teachers to seventeen children.

Pre-Kindergarten Program for Four-Year-Olds: In this class, children are preparing for Kindergarten. The curriculum and activities are still based on themes but more involved than the first Preschool class. They continue to work on pre-reading skills and phonics. Math, Science, Social Studies, as well as Arts and Crafts are an important part of this class. During the summer months, Pre-K has a program that includes field trips, arts and crafts, cooking, sports, swimming, and much more. They have dedicated outside time twice a day in one of three age-appropriate playgrounds, including the main playground which has swings, slides, and play structures. The ratio is one teacher to ten children in both of these classes.
Kindergarten and School-Age Programs
TLC offers full-day certified Kindergarten programs with a December cut-off date, as well as after-school Kindergarten programs. Summer camp programs for Kindergarten are also available, including field trips, arts and crafts, cooking, sports, swimming, and much more. They have dedicated outside time twice a day in one of three age-appropriate playgrounds, including the main playground which has swings, slides, and play structures.
- After-School Care: TLC offers after-school care for school-aged children, including some holidays, snow days, school vacation weeks, as well as summer camp programs. The Burlington location enrolls children from 1st grade through 8th grade, providing transportation from many local schools in several of the surrounding towns. The children have time for homework and fun including computers, games, arts, crafts and outside time. Summer camps are offered for children through the age of fourteen.
Outdoor Play
At Tender Learning Centre, playgrounds are thoughtfully designed to cater to a variety of age groups. From safe, engaging spaces for toddlers to more challenging equipment for older children, each area encourages exploration, physical activity, and social interaction. The Burlington playground features five distinct areas: the Train Playground, the Big Playground, two Toddler Playgrounds, and a Bike Area that transforms into a splash zone on hot summer days.

Tender Learning Centre has two locations:
- Wilmington: Located conveniently near Route 38, I-495, I-93, and I-95.
- Burlington: Located conveniently near Route 3 and I-95.
