These include Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees and various certificate programs. Among the highlights are the Culinary Arts, Dietetics, and Hospitality Management programs, showcasing TCC Southeast's commitment to providing hands-on training in high-demand fields.
Certificates offer focused training in specific areas, allowing students to quickly gain marketable skills. Examples include Cybersecurity and Beverage Management programs, reflecting the campus's responsiveness to industry trends.
However, the college also continuously evaluates its program offerings to ensure alignment with student needs and workforce demands. As part of this process, some programs may be discontinued due to sustained low enrollment and low completion rates. For example, Level Two Horticulture Business Management was recommended for discontinuation. SE President Andrew Bowne requested two Computer Support Specialist Certificate programs be discontinued.
Director of Curriculum and Educational Planning Issac Rivera told the board at its work session Feb. 19. “If you say yes … we will notify the [Texas Higher Education] Coordinating Board that effective fall of 2026, students will no longer be admitted in these programs,”

Program Discontinuation Considerations
TCC undertakes a thorough planning process, which spans three years, to develop new programs and revise, maintain, and discontinue existing ones. This process involves careful consideration of student enrollment, completion rates, and the transferability of courses to four-year universities.
One challenge the college faces is that some AAS degrees have courses that don’t directly transfer to the university. “This is an Associate in Applied Science, which has courses that doesn’t directly transfer to the university,” Jones said. “That’s what the students realize. To make these courses transferable to a university, there would need to be additional studio time added to their class.

Chancellor Elva LeBlanc said the purpose of the discontinuation presentation at the meeting was to educate them to move forward with their plan to vote at its Feb. 26 meeting. However, due to three board members being absent Feb. “It makes me think about Spectrum cable,” Gates said.
